Adding 02 sensors to a tuned Mustang

Excellent analysis of EVAP-driven rabbit hole possibilities. Not sure what "FFE" means, but my primary goal is to keep the current level of performance while making the car capable of passing VA state inspection. In our part of the state it's merely required that cats/sensors be hooked up with...

Adding 02 sensors to a tuned Mustang

Re: EVAP leak detection. So how likely are there to be problems if no codes have shown up? Will still examine lines visually and check solenoid operation, and now I know to get the indy to run smoke tests. Just had shoulder surgery; there's only so much you can do with a big sling in the way...

Adding 02 sensors to a tuned Mustang

Thanks for responses. It's always comforting when your answers are in agreement. I probably should have added that passing emissions is of less importance than simply keeping the cats and sensors happy. So long as there are no CEL's or obvious malfunctions and the car continues to run well, I...

Adding 02 sensors to a tuned Mustang

The car: 2007 GT convertible with 96xxx miles. Good compression on all cylinders. Completely upgraded suspension with square wheels/tires. Interior and top have been refreshed. No rust. Engine mods: JLT3 CAI, UDP's, BBK long tubes, BBK catless X. Why add cats?: Owner's recent physical issues...

Ford Mustang GT High-Flow Catalytic Converters

Yeah, I know the car was sold. I was asking about the extra cats. Thanks.

    Rear lca recommendations

The spherical rod ends in my new rear lower control arms click and clank a bit going over bumps and such. Somewhere I have read that there are dust boots available to encircle the rod ends. These not only contribute to longer wear, but they also muffle the noise quite a bit. Trouble is, all my...

2014 Used GT, how to make exhaust quieter and retune

Also running stock mufflers behind LTH's and catless X. Sounds good when stomped. NA.

Installed the LCA's shown in #33 above and couldn't be happier. Control, turn-in, stability, tracking - you name it. All are improved. Highly recommended. Is it OK to lube the poly bushings with this stuff...

10 amp power source in cabin?

Too late for the passenger side grommet, but the one I used is fine for the purpose. The SJB 3rd fuse from bottom left is what I used: mirror, and it's switched. So, heated seats just in time for warm weather, but my old back is still thankful. Enfield

10 amp power source in cabin?

At a guess, convertibles have their firewall through-puts in slightly different locations. Even with a 3" pick through the oval-shaped grommet behind [not below] the battery there was no finding it from inside. Went with the one behind driver's side fender liner, with all connections mounted in...

10 amp power source in cabin?

Found the grommet behind the battery about 1" up from bottom of its tray, but can't see it from the cabin side. Do you have to remove the blower motor?

10 amp power source in cabin?

    1. Where is the best place to run the 10 ga. wire through the firewall? 2. As it happens, there was a relay with the exact same terminal markings sitting on the upholsterer's desk when I paid him. He was vague about its provenance, but I took it anyway. [Guess the guy just doesn't want any...

10 amp power source in cabin?

Upholsterer installed heating elements when refurbishing my front seats, but he declined to hook up the wiring. The kit he sold me comes prewired with switches, controllers, and relays already assembled; all I need to do is connect them to a switched 12v circuit. With console and center stack...

    Mustang Convertibles

First Mustang was a '66 vert in Candy Apple Red that my dad bought new when I was 16. When gassed in 1st, it would pick up the front so that I couldn't see where it was going. Second one is much more civilized - 2007 GT with Koni's, GT500 wheels, and a few other upgrades. After getting the rear...

    Rear lca recommendations

So in some cases a poly/spherical LCA combo might actually contribute to a smoother ride? And how about motions that are carried through the upper control arm? Right now it has poly at the rear and oem rubber at the front. Not really looking to do any more with the UCA, as getting that rear...

What is it about the poly/spherical arm that makes you a fan, Norm? Spohn arm looks a lot like the BMR unit that seems to be popular on here. Enfield

The Whiteline video on AM's site was very enjoyable, especially Stephanie. Looks like my linked eBay specials are a knockoff of this KTA-195 piece. I'm tempted to get the copies just to have a look at the design, the welds, and the quality of the components. If they fail the eyeball test, I'll...

    Rear lca recommendations

Will an adjustable PHR fix the rear toe problem? Right now, it appears that the rear axle is slightly offset, but it also tracks in a plane that is measurably not parallel to that of the car in motion. Double trouble?

    Rear lca recommendations

You're all correct. The axle is straight, but it's not positioned perfectly perpendicular to the direction of travel. Took out the control arms and compared their lengths, which are very close. They do have an offset at the rear, and those appeared to be correctly installed. As a final check I...

    Rear lca recommendations

After replacing front control arms and upper rear control arm rear bushing, and installing new shocks, wheels, and tires, I went for a test drive. The car handled overall much better, but on turn-in about half the time it felt like the front and rear axles were fighting each other. Stringing...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Bolted up some GT500 rims with 275/40 General RS's; trained TPMS; and reset speedometer from the former 28+" to 26.7. 1919 rpm @60; 2558 @80. Stops, turns, and goes way better now!
