The Jalapeno, our 2005 GT build thread

Give this part of the install 3 out of 10 stars. Straightforward but massive PITA. Routing the lines between the engine and crossmember while keeping them clocked a certain way as to not dig into the AC compressor and bind? Screw this lmao Pics aren’t great but I’ll take more when it’s...

Circled back to this. Back burner projects, amiright? Remembered I needed to address the slave cylinder line so I just ordered a new brake fluid reservoir. Guess that will be a next week problem. I did finally receive my cooler line some time ago and I will begin installing that today.

Apparently the Santa’s elves had to build my cooler lines because they still haven't shipped.

Work conflicts and bad weather have delayed this further. Did order a stock 11-14 trans cooler line from Tasca.

Circling back to this, I took the bumper cover off to brain storm the transmission cooler. Yeah, that ain’t happening. My buddy suggested using oem 11-14 parts and I have them on order. While I was in there, I noticed my AC condenser was somehow beat to shit and now it will be...

Couldn’t wait.. This bore had a scratch and is the only concerning item I’ve uncovered. We will hone it and see what happens. Worst case, it’ll get sleeved.

Few more pics of that Coyote. It lost one of the timing guides. Will check for PTV contact soon.

    2005 GT gauges shows random

What are the odds of the SJB being part of the issue and the S197 water intrusion issue being a factor? Corroded points on a circuit board could be a factor.

    6R80 in my 05

On to cooler plumbing and wiring. Ready to get to tuning putting some miles on this thing again. So, my swap has a Lokar dipstick. The transmission still has fluid in it. What’s the over/under that the dipstick is remotely close to accurate? Would I be better off ditching that and using the...

    1. Installed, adjusted and secured the shift cable. 2. Installed the driveshaft. 3. Routed the transmission wiring along the firewall, behind the battery box and into the car.

Today, @lwarrior1016 and I got the 6r80 in the car. The wiring and such will be completed in my spare time over the coming days/weeks.

Like this one? It’s apparent they changed the LH head and this cap was in the RH head. It was just that one cap that was in this shape.

My buddy offered me his spare set of mint, Gen 1 F150 heads if we determine these aren’t useable. Cost: $0

A few of the LH intake cam tower caps pulled to check wear: Not the best but not the worst. Exhaust and the RH side shortly. I wish it were as clean as the Coyote in my SN95: It did have 22k miles tho..

My cheap as dirt Coyote swap.. 06 GT 500 to the wheels for $5000

Been to Rusty Knuckle Garage in Slidell a few times. My F150 tuner uses Futral’s dyno.
