So I ended up breaking a valve spring and figured since the valve covers had to come off, why not paint em. I did some research all over this forum to find a style I liked. Lots of good looking ones but I wanted something different and original so this is what I came up with. I used etching...

It is a possibility that caused it. But could have fractured the spring back in the day when I used to race it and just finally broke apart. My only question now is, well I pretty sure I have to, but do I need to remove the cam to replace the spring? The spring is located where the cam is not...

So I could not get photos in Georgia cause it was raining when I finished the car. Car is done. Took 2 days. I will post pics when the thunderstorm outside goes away and the sun comes back. Huge improvement. Looks like glass now.

Completed the process with V36 w/orange cut pad and then V38 w/white polish pad. I will have to finish tomorrow with 2 coats of black light then 2 coats of Pete's '53 then V7. Those polishes come off very easily. V36 makes a lot of dust but V38 does not at all. Great system for first timers...

Its cool man. Never buying a black car again lol Not in Georgia especially. Well hopefully after this process I should only have to maintain it.
