FS: 2006 Mustang GT track ready; Southern California

Sorry for the delay in posting additional pictures, but work has been hectic lately. Here are some more pics (excuse the dusty interior!!!). With 2 drivers, 4 cars and a small, California garage, I am being...ahem...pressured to sell this thing sooner rather than later. Price drop: $17,500

2006 Mustang GT Premium Manual 5-speed transmission Black exterior, black interior 41,665 miles Price: $17,500 (Blue book on this is between $13,000 and $15,000, and the dollar value of modifications in this car is, well, let’s just say I don’t want to put it in writing in case my wife sees...

    Unpredictability

This. When I replaced my stock lsd with a Trutrac it was a huge change in predictability in breaking the rear loose. You can rebuild the stocker with new clutches (a temporary fix with your power levels), or swap in a better lsd. The difference in handling predictability, mostly in aggressive...

    What seats are you running?

Sparco actually makes a tilt enabled seat bracket for fixed back seats, if you want back seat access. I was going to go that route, but my kids (young) can get in the back seat if I slide the passenger seat all the way forward.

front splitters available? may have a solution but need pics!

You need to compete, as that is world record smashing shooting (I believe the current 1000 yard record is still about 2.5"). Basically, you are saying your rifle is a 0.0375 MOA shooter at 1000 yards. That's a little tough to believe...

0.375 MOA or 0.375" at 1000. One is believable, the other isn't...

Can the Koni yellows really control 500 lb springs?? That would be a surprise to me.

front splitters available? may have a solution but need pics!

See if your local sign shop carries alumalite. It is basically a corrugated plastic with aluminum skins on both sides. Very light, but stiff. It is usually $100 or so for a 4'x8' sheet. Very popular splitter material. Like Hunter and Dave mentioned, plywood is also a great option. A wrap...

You can also call them and just buy the upper spring seat and bearing.

    clutch help

I had never dropped a transmission before, but dropping it multiple times over a year has made me a pro! It is actually pretty straightforward, and once you take a deadblow hammer to the front corners of the tranny tunnel, it gets even easier.

    clutch help

My stock pressure plate gave out on me--figured it out the hard way after dropping the tranny to replace the throwout. Then replacing the master cylinder. Then dropping the tranny again to replace the pressure plate and disc. Then replacing the POS RAM clutch when it started giving me...

    clutch help

Sounds like the pressure plate--never heard of the brand, but do you trust they have all of the release dimensions correct? Even some of the biggies screwed this up and include a spacer for behind the throwout.

    Autocross help

The FR500Cs swap rates depending on the track and conditions, though. A better comparison is the FR500S, which uses 500/300 with the FRPP swaybars--may not be the best rate for all tracks, but they probably are a damn good compromise. Which is what most of us with day jobs like. No need to...

cage weld plates for future install

Heh, heh. Yep, that's the one. Bulkhead mount is the only way to go IMHO, and with a bolt-in version available, it is an easy decision.

cage weld plates for future install

IF you go with pads on the floor, go big on the plate and also weld in sections at a 90 degree angle to the floor plate that allow you to tie the plate into the vertical section of the door sill and rear bulkhead. Something like the Autopower 4"x4" pads are a joke, as seen a few years back from...

    Tie Rod Ends

Just wrap the stockers with a layer of the high end adhesive foil duct tape. I have been doing this for years at the suggestion of one of Rehagen's team members and have never had an issue with melted boots. Not normal duct tape, but the stuff that is actually aluminum with an adhesive backing.

    Relocation Brackets

Sky, that does look more aggressive than typical. You don't notice any roll oversteer? Kelly, Norm and I discussed angles a while back (search should find it). Norm brought his always helpful info and also posted some spreadsheets. FWIW, I have mine a degree or two from level (uphill...

Great to hear you are back on the track, Dave! Sounds like there will be some fun winter projects planned. Although, do the projects ever end with a track car? :naughty1:

Here you go: http://www.ramclutches.com/Instructions/hydraulic_main.htm The second link is the .pdf diagram, but the first one is also helpful as it explains things in more detail.

Clutch install question, shim and dimension...

I just installed the Mach 400 and an Exedy flywheel last weekend with no spacer. I called their tech line to confirm that no spacer is needed, but still did the measurements using the RAM worksheet. Great clutch so far.
