Chris at AM.com says the black chrome and matte black Saleen wheels in 18x9 are 26lbs. I'm guessing it's closer to 27lbs in 18x10. Probably not the strongest wheel but it's not overweight and it's cheap enough for those on a budget.

""anyone on this forum run these? ive been wanting to step the game up a little and im thinking the switch to 285's or 295's once i wear out my current 275 NT-01 setup. $309 a pop isnt too bad either for such a lightweight wheel...

they are 18x10 and only 19.2 lbs each. so i would be losing a ton of rotational weight from my GT500 wheels. any opinions?""

Touchy aren't we. ;) So if the GT500 wheels aren't OK in the original post and now they are awesome why change.

By the way a set of Forged CCW's SP16A costs $2700 which is hardly four times as much as a set of cast Enkei's or D Force. You gets what you pay for. Light, Strong or Inexpensive Pick 2. ;)

They told me in an email once. They're over 30 lbs each.

About 27-28lbs. I just ordered a set of the Boss 302S upgrade wheels (M-1007-R1895) for my buddy, and they weigh 20.7lbs each. But they're 18x9.5. The Boss 302R wheels (M-1007-R1810) are 18x10 and they're also advertised as 20.7lbs.

My OEM GT500 rims 18x9.5 weighed in at 26lbs each.

Ya steeda told me their ultralites 18x10's were 31lbs each. I think IIRC the enkei PF01 18x9.5 was a c hair over 21lbs. My street wheels, AR replica 2010 gt500 18x9 were 27 and the 18x10 was 26.

Correct - and that is one reason I run them as track wheels.

The other reasons are that they are strong and well priced.

I thought the pf01 were more like 16.5lb each? The rpf1 are well under 20 and the pf01 were supposed to be lighter yet.

I happen to have the RPF1 spec sheet handy... the 18's range from 17-19lbs and the 19's are 19-21lbs. Enkei has the best selection of light weight wheels that are reasonably priced that I have found. They have a proprietary manufacturing process which results in much lighter wheels than just about anyone else in a one piece wheel. Konig also has some that are fairly light, but they actually license the process from Enkei for some of their wheels.

There are ultra expensive manufacturers like HRE, CCW, etc. who have very light weight wheels, but the pricing is in an entirely different realm. A lot of those are going to be a three piece wheel also.

The early advertising made that claim (which they didn't deem necessary to remove for a long time - not sure if its still up), and there may have been some early prototype wheels that suggested it. However, the end product didn't deliver on this claim. I've had PF01s and RPF1s in the same size (even close offset similarity) and the RPF1s were lighter by more than a pound.

Both are amazingly light wheels, but they're in the 19-20 lb range for 18" wheels in the 9.5"-10" width range. I've not seen a sub-17 lb wheel that is 18" in diameter and over 9" wide that didn't have a carbon fiber hoop. And for that goodness, you'd best be ready to pony up some very tall cash.

Best,

I used to have a set of the Saleen Technomagnesio Magnesium wheels. They were 18x10, and while I know they were light, I don't know the exact figure.

I was test fitting them on my '03 Cobra:

How about tsw nurburgring. I'm using a 19x9.5 that weigh in at less than 20lbs and are roll forged. Probably the cheapest light weight wheel available. About 5 track days and 3 Offroad excursions with one hard curbing and they are still true.
