The 1L and 3L caps should all be the same. At least '03 and up. The '01 and older blocks have the rounded caps I think.
I ordered pistons and rods today. I'm putting +1cc Mahle pistons in it. Going to build it for E85 as the primary fuel and go back to na. Mahles guide says compression should be 12.3 but online calculators come up with about 11.2. I think Mahle used a smaller combustion chamber to come up with their numbers.
I think 400rwhp will be doable. I'll put 4.56 gears in and call it a day. Believe it or not the car is too damn fast for street use right now. It drives like stock but I'm finding myself doing things I shouldn't be doing... Acting more like a teenager than a mid 40's man with teenagers.
Well crap. I have a 1L block with rounded caps. Would that mean someone put an older style cap on my block and would that be an issue? If the caps are good in my 3V block can they be put on the 1L block or are caps only good for the block they were originally built with?Looks just like my 3L2E caps. The pic is of the 1L.

I found myself doing things in your car I shouldn't have done too. Am I still on probation for introducing the throttle to the carpet in 1st and 2nd?
Should be a really good combo Bruce. Port the heads, run the same cams you already have, and get long tube headers. I would say your HP goals are achievable.

Sorry I did not mean to thread jack.
Wow new combo ahead for you, I am curious as to the story behind Marc WOT S driving your car........just joking.
