So as many of you know, I purchased my rolling chassis back in December of last year. Well I finally had the chance this weekend to start ripping it apart and start my build! What the hell is Speedlab RSR you ask? lol. "Speedlab" comes from a lot of the Saleen parts I will be running, "RSR" from the Porsche RSR in which I get a lot of my style/function/fabrication ideas and inspiration from. Stupid, I know, but it needed a name.

The purpose of the car is to have a relatively cheap (sub 15k) weekend warrior/track car that I can rip up but still be somewhat reliable. I'm just trying to keep it simple this time around, NO FI and the plan is just for a full bolt on 3V with a lot of weight reduction. I'll be doing everything minus the engine swap myself and out of my garage and I'll try my best to document the progress along the way(it's gonna be iPhone pics so bare with me). I work 40 hours a week and go to school full time so fri/sat are my only days to work on the car. ANYWAYS, here's my build:

Suspension:
-Saleen Speedlab coilovers
-Saleen front sway bar
-Maximum Motorsports panhard bar
-Maximum Motorsports LCA's
-Brembo front brake kit
-Brembo rear pads/ss lines
-Custom front brake ducts
-SVE Drift wheels 18x10's
-Nitto NT05 295/35R18's
-ARP extended studs
Engine:
-Kooks LT headers and offroad x
-Mid mounted Magnapacks
-Custom rear section exhaust
-Steeda intake
-Steeda CMDP
-SCT tune
Drivetrain:
-MGW Gen2 shifter
-FRPP 4.10 gears
Exterior:
-Saleen body kit
-Tiger Racing hood
-Agent47 mirrors
-3D carbon fender flares
-Custom front splitter
-Custom rear diffuser
Interior:
-Saleen gauge cluster
-Recaro or Cobra fixed seats
-Maximum Motorsports 4 point roll bar
-FRPP engine start

My new wheels came in today and the tires will be here next week so I can finally mount them and get the car on the ground:

Started mocking up and testing fitting the fender flares with the new wheels. I know right now it's kind of pointless running these flares but when the time comes to upgrade to some lighter/wider wheels and some stickier tires, it should give me more room to test fit some new setups:

Good to see it come back to life. Did you do a full scrub on the inside to remove the burnt smell?

Can I haz these?!?!?!?!:drool::drool:

If you can take your car the the track and ACTUALLY DRIVE IT...you can haz them.

I'm ripping out most of the interior so I'm not too worried. I've been spraying odor remover everyday in the mean time and it's been helping. The smell is actually not as bad as I imagined it would be.

Nice, are you gonna run run the stock DS or a one piece?

Stock DS for now. Again, sticking with my initial budget and it's not a necessity right now.

They were hard to get but their cheap and it's worth the try. As far as the fit goes, I'm sure you're referring to the end of the fenders sticking out? I know, I know the front bumper and rear bumper aren't going to line up exacty but the inside of the wheel wells should line up to the Saleen side skirts. It's a track car, not a show car so I guess it is what it is..

Thank god you started making a thread. This is going to be awesome!

Haha I know man, taking pics and documenting the build takes a lot of extra time that I don't have but at least it's a start.

Drivers seat caught fire for a few minutes causing the seat to burn and some smoke damage...doesn't really matter anyways for what I'm doing with the car.
