Custom paint job. Lizstick red. Custom motor by Saleen. Was Steve Saleen demo vehicle from what I am told from Saleen in MI. Because of the custom motor and tune they named it S.E.01. Super Extreme.
3000 miles. I bought it with a clutch problem. Had to replace the clutch. :(
It even has the Saleen Watts link on it.
Here she is in the trailer being picked up.

What size is that rear sway-bar? It sure would look nice with these matching end-links.

Very nice car! When mine grows up I hope it looks like yours. Lol.

fake center exhaust?

IMG_0637.jpg

The center exit on the Extreme is above the carbon fiber diffuser with two dumps to the side, same exhaust as all S281 cars. The '05 models had a vacuum actuated valve at the rear dumps that would open under full throttle, but it was trash so they stopped it moving forward and just left all four open.

It's a true center exit though for sure, unless they did something really bizarre on this car.

Nice rid for sure- Lizstick is a really rare color and obviously any car that was demo/owned by Steve is going to be a keeper.

Honestly I don't know why they did that with the exhaust. But it still comes out the center. Maybe its closed and then at higher RPM's it flows through the dumps.

The motor is one of the first stroked 302 to come out of saleen. So I am told.

690HP 550 ft lbs at the crank V8 SOHC 3V, 302CID, Supercharged 5.0 Liter

552 to the wheels.

This is what I got from the original owner.

3.55in Bore x 3.8in Stroke
Kellogg Forged Steel Crank Shaft
Manley Forged Steel Connecting Rods
CP Forged Aluminum Pistons
Competition Cams Camshaft
CNC Ported Cylinder Heads - Ernie Elliot. I've been told.

20% drive train loss? If it made 552 rwhp - more like 625-650 crank

Enjoy it and be careful if you're not used to a more powerful car.

Probably less drive train loss and more Saleen fuzzy math. Sort of how every Extreme car was said to be a 550hp crank car when none of them made over 450hp to the wheels.

Not hating on your car, just Saleen in general.

After further investigation, it sounds like SE01 was built for the owner of Techco in Anaheim. Techco obviously being the company that would later make aftermarket parts for Saleen.

Sounds like it was the Techco test mule, lots of money involved.

yea, kinda my point

I have no idea how Saleen/Techco got the 690 number. I honestly don't know what kind of dyno it was dyno'd on either.

I thought the RWHP was low too. But to be honest. I haven't even used it.
