i know, i know... another question about leather care

ok, the 2010+ seats are mostly vinyl correct? as far as i can tell only the bolsters are real leather

the owners manual pretty much states that all you need to do is wipe them with a damp cloth unless there is a stain that will not come clean with a damp cloth.

so is that it? no need for conditioners? protectors? anything of the such?

i just feel that wiping with a wet cloth would cause them to dry out for some reason. idk though thats why i am here asking

i was going to use some 303 on them, then i read about water based only products. i cound't tell if any of the stuff at the parts stores were water based or not (megiures, blue magic, tutrle wax, etc...)

so i guess my main question is

to protect and maintain my seats in my 2011 gt premium, all i need to do is wipe them with a damp cloth every few weeks?

This is what I have used on my old 2002 GT and my 2011 GT for weekly upkeep.

It will work just fine for what you need and won't harm a thing. Buy a pack of microfiber applicators to apply this stuff. Take one of them and make it slightly damp with warm water and just wipe clean the seat for debris or slight stains. Then apply the conditioner to the vinyl areas and spread the product into the actual leather. Do this to try to keep build up in the perforated holes down, but still maintain good coverage. I will normally just let the product sit on the seat after getting a nice even coat. It should have that true leather look and not some glossy, nasty, slimy feel/look after it dries (about 5-10 minutes)

Your seats are vinyl except for the perforated area. The entire seat still requires upkeep and most GOOD conditioners (Lexol is mediocre at best and don't even get me started on the other over-the-counter crap) contain the right ingredients for what you need.
