Holy moses! That's quite a list. Are you getting all that from www.06gt.com?

Seems like a lot are "less" which seems like ideally you would want not many "less" - if I'm reading that correctly? THANKS.

Wow. So that's kind of what I really want to see when I look at a car; but I don't know how often I would be able to get that? Probably not very often?

What did I buy? This is addressed to all of you who placed comments on this thread. The question isn't addressing my own car but to all of us and what we bought. With Mustangs plug and play parts sometimes it's difficult to know if you bought a deluxe, premium or?

Using my car as an example I bought it because it reminded me of my 1970 Mach I. It is a GT/California Special. I see "GT in a number of post but I don't think my GT is the same as what you folks are talking about. I think the GT engine is a 5.0 and mine is a 4.6. But it does have GT in several places on my car.

I guess I could say looking on the internet for Mustangs from 05 to 09 has become a hobby. But what I'm looking for is what equipment came on the car. While there is the Deluxe and the Premium I think sometimes we're thrown a curve because of what the original buyer picked out for the cars extra accessories.

For example my car because it's a GT/CS comes with a black defusor under the back bumper, the front bumper lower part has a black part and fake air scoops and the black stripes on the side. Looking on line I see many of the GT/CS's also have an air scoop on the hood, mine does not and I assume the buyer didn't order that accessory.

So the original buyer didn't order gauges but idiot lights instead, no leather steering wheel cover, nor chrome Mustang on the lower door frame he did order the Navigation system, leather heated, power seats.

Am I 100% sure I have a CS/GT, probably 98% sure. While I think the original buyer bought some nice accessories, I think other just weren't important to him.

A number of you guys are really helpful with your post, thanks for sharing your knowledge. And, in my opinion never buy a car you can't inspect and drive before buying.

Thanks. If you look the digits positions 5-7 of the VIN that may tell you something compared to other cars in the same series. Really nice car!

I looked at the VIN codes and confirmed my car is a 2008 convertible :) But in an earlier post someone said there are only premiums and deluxe, no standard. I have the shaker 500, Mustang floor mats, heated power seats, Navigation system, had the CD with six CD's player. The rims have the Black center with the mustang horse. The rest is the California Special items. So is my car a premium or a deluxe minus some things the original buyer didn't want?

When I put in the new radio, Navigation, phone, back up camera that removed the Ford product except for the Shaker 500. Which still sound great.

It's a GT/CS and therefore above premium. In 08/09 you could have gone one level higher on the GT (Bullitt). GT level cars from 05-10 all had the 4.6 3V. The 5.0 Coyote became the GT engine in 2011.

I had said on an earlier post "thanks to you guys that have the knowledge". This has been really bugging me. My car has GT plastered on it in several places but then I would read where someone was discussing a GT but with 5.0 engines. I thought it was two different things. I have learned so much about my car on this site. Thanks!

Since my last post I went on Google and ended up with about four pages of the 2008 GT/CS Mustang and appears when you buy that model, you're running on two parallel tracks. That is, your buying the required upgrades of the California Special and pick and choose accessories available because it's a GT Premium. Therefore you can put two of the cars side by side and they may not be the same. I also learned that the thing I described as a black thing below the front bumper is really a "chin spoiler that sits 1&1/2 inches lower than a GT and allows a greater air flow to cool the engine". The site also gives all the spec's, colors, number built, etc.

I'm feeling pretty proud, I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about.

Mustangspecs.com... 2008 Ford Mustang GT/CS California Special. I had to look it up on my phone. It has everything down to how many built to how many of each color.

Does anyone know about the following.

I have found out so much about my car from this site and from the information I got off Google yesterday. I mentioned in an earlier post that I look for 2008 Mustangs GT/CS on ebay, Utube, etc to see what equipment they have. One area still in the dark on. Many of the GT/CS have a bar running from fender to fender under the hood, mine dose not. Also a number of them have a nice cover over the engine with a Pony on it. Since I don't have the fake air scoop on the hood, I'm wondering if you don't have the scoop there isn't enough room for the engine cover.
Since I'm not the first owner I don't know if someone took the items off or they were never there in the first place.

I would guess you are talking about some kind of stabilizer brace. If some of this particular model have it and some don't then it was an option maybe? Does it show on your build sheet as not there, or not on the build sheet at all? Seems like it would just be in the way...

I imagine you can get various engine covers, check various Mustang suppliers there are a ton and they can answer those kind of things. Hood scoop I think was not always functional if not then it would not affect hood clearance.

Again I know not very much so others will certainly be more help on this!
