How many 2011 Mustangs are on here? 5.0 or 3.7?

With Gas pricing going up..

Which would you buy (5.0 or 3.7)? Would you still buy performance upgrades??

I have a 5.0L. And a Dodge Ram truck. I wouldn't own either if I couldn't afford the gas for them. Gas would have to get over $8 a gallon before I'd reel in my driving habits. Think about it. Just buying a clunker for $5000 to drive around to get better gas mileage won't save you any money unless you stick with it for a decade. You'll have maintenance costs on the clunker, insurance and you'll still be paying for gas even if a little bit less.

Buying a cheaper gas mileage car to replace your DD Mustang just doesn't make sense to me.

i just got my 5.0 and my wife has an F-150 with a 4.6 in it. my car has 3.73s and her truck has 3.55s. shes not too thrilled with the gas prices lately and has started driving our 93 beater Camry more.

I have a '12 GT, and IMHO if the price of gas is what's making you have to decide between a 5.0 and a 3.7, then you should just get the 3.7, because you don't have the bawlz for a 5.0.

(kidding, kidding, the 3.7 is a great motor too)

My '11 GT gets 50% better fuel economy around town vs the supercharged '07 GT it replaced, so I'm coming out ahead even with rising fuel costs.

I havent paid for gas or insurance on my DD for the past 8 years (company vehicle) so I dont look at gas prices. Even when I fill up the 5.0 which I drive once or twice a week if im lucky I still dont look.....just fill er up with 93.Cars washes are free on the DD also.

my favorite is the "lets trade our gas guzzler in for a prius" so not only are you under for the first car now you start all over again with more payments

My 'Stang is my daily driver. Gas mileage matters to me, and it's one of the reasons I chose the five-oh over other vehicles.

My previous vehicle wad a 12-mpg truck. I should be angrier about the current gas prices than I am...

I didn't buy a Mustang for the fuel mileage. I bought it to drive and enjoy not really giving a shit what kind of fuel mileage it gets. They actually do really well on gas though when you think about it, I average 20 mpg driving back and forth to work.

Have a '97 Mustang GT convertible DD that gets 20mpg. It's long paid for. At $5/gallon and 2200 miles per month, I still pay less per month than a monthly payment on a 33mpg car and half the monthly fuel expenses. I did the math cause I was going to buy a 2012 Focus, but it's pointless unless the '97 dies. 120k miles so far. If it rains I just drive my 15mpg 2008 F-150.

+1 Gas boy at the station looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him to fill it up with premium 93 at 4 something dollars a gallon lol

I have a 5.0, and gas prices aren't really an issue for me, as I think the mileage is pretty decent compared to my DD, a 2004 Durango.

I drive 5 miles to work and 5 miles home, gas prices doesn't bother me. My fiance was complaining that I told her to put 91 in due to the tune. Then I explained that the 91 is only .20 cents more per gallon than the 87, which after putting in 10 gallons, it's only $2 more. It's not that much of a difference to even worry about.
