2013 taillights attempt on 05-09 cars

this was not thought of, or executed by me. simpily just passing it along. it seems to look decent by the pictures provided, although i would like to see a flat black vinyl overlay in place of several coats of plastidip

You've probably seen me before on a thread with the plasti dipped decklid. I've been very creative again with Plasti Dip and the result was better than i expected!

I taped off my whole taillight with painters tape, made a sketch of what i wanted. Teared it off in 1 piece. Scanned it into photoshop. Made the edge a bit round like the 2013 lights. Printed it. Duplex taped the back of the printed page. Cut out the outter and inner ring with a scissor. Sticked it on the taillight and sprayed 11 layers of Dip on it.

You can do it yourself too! Just save the image of the left taillight, mirror it and print it on original size.

Thread title is misleading. They are faux tail lights not 2013s on a 05-09

I don't care for it.

Also, gotta wonder, get rear ended and have issues for covering your OEM lights...........

I'm all for blacking out an emblem or two, but this Plastidip thing is starting to get out of hand.

For a home made job, the look came out pretty good I think. Not too shabby. But doesn't really work right for those style lights.
