Rice sites? Jap crap. First of all, oh ignorant one, Nissan earnings don't even go back to Japan. The Japanese get a very small portion. Nissan is owned by Renault in France. So get your facts straight before ranting like a buffoon.
Second, a few insignificant items is more like half the car. Block castings and misc pieces of the engine are outsourced to foundries in cheaper countries. Almost every control system in the car will have an Asian origin. Most of the car, even the tires, come from from foreign countries. Even many of Ford's investors come from other countries. You have no idea what you are talking about.

The modern modular engines are produced in Romeo, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario.

Cheaper countries? Even the rare earlier 4.6 made by Teksid, a supplier to Ferrari can't be considered cheap. I am man enough to admit I am wrong on some things, are you? Or are you perfect?

You are still ignorant for thinking that someone buying a Nissan or Toyota is not helping to employ americans. These companies have several plants in the usa, as well as research and development sites. All the major car companies are equally important to our countries economy and its people. They employ thousands of americans, just like the big three. You are also ignorant for labeling a car as rice crap just because it has Nissan in the name. Remember, it has taken ford years to catch up to the quality of the japanese competitors. They are now pretty equal, but japanese brand name cars are not really built in japan anymore.

I have seen and driven japanese and American cars throughout the years. I have yet to see a better quality import at the same year equivalent.

We are not going to change one anothers opinion. I for one have many years on this earth and experience that has decided my beliefs. Ultimately, when can all agree to disagree.

Produced means assembled. Most of the parts are still made in foreign foundries. There is most likely a stamp on your block that will lead you the company that made it. Ford does not own its own foundries. I have worked with ford companies for almost 4 years. No one forges their own parts. BTW, many of the japanese companies assemble engines in the US as well.
Edit: Actually Ford has partner ownership in a few foundries, all foreign.

I'll have to check that out on my block, I did not know that. Where would it be stamped?

On our engines (Cummins) it is on the FP side down low. Location can be different depending on the source. It is usually just a couple letters or a symbol. I haven't looked at the Mercury engines in a while. Those blocks were probably casted in the same place.

Our mustang heads are cast in Canadia I think.

Dear god... please tell me you folks are not that incredibly short-sighted to make comments about where a vehicle is produced. Christ, get some education on economics before preaching about "jap crap" and "buy American."

How many Americans feed their families as a result of a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc vehicle sale? The indirect effect stems on and on from the employees of the dealership (in your local town), to the transportation company, the landscapers, the lot attendants, the advertising firm used in the U.S., the magazine employees benefiting from the advertising, the researchers paid to evaluate the "jap crap" products... None of these employees are in a foreign country. They live next to you in your local town. ..and those neighbors consume things. They buy groceries, they buy their own cars, they fill their tanks, they buy pets, supplies, auto parts, etc. The cash infused from a "jap crap" sale perpetuates income for Americans.

Ford employs 110,00 people with the headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. Toyota employs 32,000 with the headquarters in Aichi, Japan.

actually most of cocaine is made in colombia then transported for sale in the US. We as a nation are the greatest users of drugs in the world so then by your judgement and lines of thinking since every jap is a ricer then it is ok for the rest of the world to call us crack addicts, or snorters? lol

What did you expect? Androdz is in here extolling the virtues of another Japanese car all the while bemoaning the plight of the poor domestic muscle car owner.

More of the same.

Androdz....If you like the foreign cars so much that you can't resist the urged to post things like this then, by all means, get rid of your Mustang and jump right on one of those little Nissan hot rods. At which time you can feel free to leave S197forums and prance around on some import car site. Nobody will miss you here.

And by the way Kimmer.....being short makes it easy to get over the roll bar. As our fabricator said so eloquently stated, "Swing outs are for pussies." :roflmao:

Dont worry I got an import and an euro as well :) Just stating that ford needs to step it up like gm did with the vette on going lighter. Mustangs keep getting heavier and heavier. Soon we will all be driving challengers lol

The 2010 mustang is a bit smaller than the current s197 with a few lbs shaved off and has the 315hp bullit engine in it. What ive read a few websites is the 2011 mustang could possibly be a 5.0 modular pushing near 400hp so dont worry about it. Hell i even read on one website that a possible 6.2L is an option but who knows.
