I think the OP plays too much WoW or some other type of MMO. I haven't seen 'XD' since back in the FFXI and WoW days....

Waiting on: >.>; ;; QQ ^_^;b etc

Thank you for all your comments , but i forgot to add that im a track going guy , i dont like drag racing that much .. I mean do not get me wrong who doesnt like to smoke cars off the line in a traffic light , especially if its a Camaro ;)

You can have fun with both cars if you plan to use them on a road course. However the 5.0 weighs less than the GT500 and will be easier on tires and brakes. Also, unless you are buying a 2011 or 2012 GT500, the rest of the GT500's are nose heavy due to the iron block. For less than a new GT500 or for the price of a slightly used 2011 GT500 you can also buy a BOSS 302. A BOSS 302 with the Recaros and the LS LSD would be a fun track day car.

I considered the BOSS 302 but i always come back to the Shelby , and ur right i have driven the 2008 GT500 and it feels very heavy in the turns even with nitto envos the car had under steer , and then i drove the 2011 GT 5.0 and it felt like a sports car not a muscle car , i was amazed and that was with stock suspension .
The owner said that the GT500 feels much better cuz u get alot of power out of the corners and the brakes are amazing ( his words ) and he got me all worked up .
So to tell you the truth my mind is set , Kona Blue with White strips and ( hopefully ) SVT package .

that 100lbs off the nose of the car really helps!

The 5.0 will feel lighter and more nimble than any stock GT500. The brakes on the GT500 are the same as in the 5.0 with the Brembo package.

If I was to track one it would be the GT500, I'm a drag racer and love the sleeper look of the GT with a blower. I had a 2010 GT500 and that car just got way too much attention for me, plus the trans on mine sucked, Ford refused to fix it so I had a chance to move it on and I sold it. I liked the car enough to take a chance and buy a base 2011 GT auto, adedd a couple hundred more horsepower and I really like the car. It reminds me of an old muscle car, just plain everywhere and fast as hell, works for me but its not for everyone..

But cost-wise its really foolish to buy a GT and mod it to the GT500 level IMO, the 2011+ GT500 is a great car, and it has something a highly modded GT wont have - a warranty. Of course if you are looking for the ultimate track weapon I would probably start with a base GT and add what you want and who cares about the warranty, but for a street and occasional track day I'd take the GT500.

Gt500 if you're going to track it. Some weight saving mods like tubular front suspension pieces, battery reloc etc will relieve that extra nose weight, and the torque will be there in force at any rpm.

Thank you all for your input , one more question about the parts ( after market and factory maintenance parts ) , are they about the same for both cars , price wise , or is the GT500 more expensive to ( god forbid ) repair ? cuz after all im gonna take down to the race track where the cars are driven to their max .

I'd say the Boss for me. If you have the money just get the GT500 and track the shit out of it.

Would you include front brake ducting in that if it's a regular track vehicle?

Depends 100% on the brake pad. I see a lot of retards add brake cooling vents but yet their pads need to be super hot to achieve optimal braking. It makes no sense.

Gt500 parts will be more since it is a limited production car and the demand is not as high as a GT. Plus it is a Shelby. The GT500 has many more tougher parts to compensate for the power but in the end shit breaks when you pound on it.

either one will be a great choice:

GT with track package
GT500 PP with Recaro Seat Option.

good luck with your decision... you really can't go wrong.

Just got a 2008 GT500 last Monday with 1500 miles on it.
I have had my 2011 GT since July of last year.

If the GT500 had a glass roof there would be only ONE Mustang sitting in my driveway.
I ordered and waited 3 months for my GT.It would be gone.

The Cobra is just THAT much of a better car.
