8.8 Rebuild DIY

I don't think this has already been posted here, it's an awesome writeup/diy to rebuild the 8.8 rear end. I'm on my 4th set of whiney gears installed by ford so after reading this writeup, I might attempt a gear install myself.

Ford service work is covered for 12 months at any Ford dealer. I assume you've had the same dealer try to fix it? Just take it to another dealer. No point in doing it yourself when someone else will do it for free. Most dealers will have a tech or two who are really good at getting them setup right.

I'm past the 12 month point but they told me they would redo them anyways. The tech at that dealership who supposedly is the main guy for doing the rear ends says "They're 4.10's so they're going to whine no matter what" No point arguing with him. I guess I could try another dealership but I don't think they would do them because I am past the 12 month period, only reason the current dealership will do them again is because I know the service director and he noted that they were whining after they were installed.

Either way it's a really good writeup for someone that can turn a wrench and wants to attempt the install themselves.
