Anyone ever hear of spraying rubbing alcohol and water on your intercooler between runs to cool it off more quickly?

going to a track rental Thursday and it's gonna be about 80* - looking for ideas to beat the heat soak!

(and Ron I'm bringing a cooler for ice!)

anyone ever think of taking a can of compressed air, turning it upside down and spraying it on the intercooler to freeze it? That shit is so cold it can give you instant frostbite

RON.... dont you recall i was doing that .. LOL.. army supply is great i always sign out the air duster and when i knew i would be running at the track for the weekend..

NOW for the tech side of it.. I dunno if it worked if at all.. But i do know that i would use alot of the can and the I/C would get pretty cool.. Now if i sat there for a bit and got back out i touched the I/C it would heat back up..

I would spray when i was a few back in the staging lane.. if the flow was going good and there was no wait..

Montreal Qc,
Use a CO2 fire extinguisher.

I would strongly advise you make sure it's not a dry chemical extinguisher or you'll have one heck of a mess.

Halon is too expensive and harmful to the environment to use for cooling off an HE. That's the first thing I'd reach for though if I had a fire.

Pete - thanks... a few days late! LOL

I actual contacted a welding supply house and the suggested a CO2 bottle 15lbs iirc with fittings and hose was gonna run me like $200 - i just couldn't get there during the store hours. maybe in the future.
