I purchased a shaker 500 head unit described as "perfect condition" from SherrodMustang about 2-3 weeks ago. I paid instantly via payal. He waited over a week to even ship the radio to me, and when I received the radio, it was damaged and non functional. After pages and pages of PM's, telling me that he will make it right, etc etc. He refuses to make it right. SherrodMustang wants me to ship it back at my expense, and MAYBE he will refund part of the money.

I have opened a dispute via paypal. In the mean time I am out my money for nothing. I can't express how frustrating this is.

I do not agree with the above post. Sherrodmustang has been in contact with me with this issue. I've seen all the PM's with him discussing options to you of how he is willing to make it right.

Was the box damaged when you received the product?

Exactly what's wrong with it anyways. I've had literally dozens of them shipped to me and the biggest problem is people don't pull the CD's out prior to shipping and it dislodges the cd swingarm in the player and caused a CD error.

I do not know if there were disc in the radio. Because it will not power up. See PM.

The box was not damaged.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The fact is that it is not what I paid for. I offered to return the radio at my expense. He would not refund the money even at that point.

But that is why we use pay pal I guess. Hopefully they can help.

Sooo.....if you win the paypal dispute (which you probably won't based on my past experience with them)...then he's out the money and his radio. Same situation as you.

If I sent out a bad Shaker...I'd want it back first before I refunded as well. I had someone try to flim flam me once on a Shaker saying it was bad. Thankfully I mark (if possible) before shipping which worked in my favor in this incident. Guy was trying to send me a different Shaker back. Not saying you are...but I can understand being cautious.

Thanks RH, I appreciate the face plate offer. But the radio wont power up.

Paypal may do nothing. But Sherrod is not resolving the issue. I have no use for a broken radio lol. Same as Sherrod it would seem lol.

Check the pins on the back of the radio. Sometimes they get bent or broken...Lord knows I've seen plenty of those.

Haha, thanks for the offer. But this isn't my first rodeo with stereos and car parts. Besides I can't spend any more money on a radio that could be internally damaged.

Didn't say anything about spending money...lol...just pay the shipping.

If you know how to work on them..take it apart. They're fairly simple...basically three parts/components inside.

Thats not what the PM's say. What you could of done is returned the radio as soon as you saw a scratch on it and requested a full refund. By doing a full refund you still need to pay shipping back to him. Thats the problem you had, you wanted him to refund you right away an he pay shipping back before he got the radio. It doesn't work like that.

If so you should of not plugged in the radio by doing that you pretty much sealed the deal of NOT getting a refund by paypal. It is best to see if he will take back the radio at a full refund but you pay shipping back to him since he paid shipping to you. Also this is your first deal here please try to get this resolved in a better manner before putting him on the bad seller list.

I don't think you have seen the most recent PM's between Sherrod and I. I requested that exactly.

For me to ship the radio back at my expense, in return for a refund. I notified him for the scratch immediately upon receiving and inspection. I don't think either of us doubted the functionality of the radio at that time.

The only problem with that is once you saw the cosmetic damage and realized you probably didn't want it....you shouldn't have gone thru with installing it. Who's to say that you yourself didn't cause the damage?

Your integrity is questioned right along with Sherrods on this point. Not saying that this is what happened, but from the outside looking in it sure should be considered.

Glad this post was brought to my attention. There is two side to every story as most know. I sent the radio as described, in perfect condition and no known faults. It did take me a week to get it to him and was in contact with him the entire time about the delay. At no point did he say anything about and have a problem with it. I had stuff at work that came up and due yo the weather and was unable to pull the radio as quickly as I wanted.

At first I was going to have my buddy pull the radio for me and ship to get it on out to him. But ended up having him pull it and I shipped and packed it myself. This was me tring to speed the time frame to get it out to him without delay. Even with him not saying anything about the delay.

Once he received the radio he sent me a PM saying the front had a scratch on it and he wanted $30 for it. I told him I would make it right if he could send a picture and he did. I got with my buddy who pulled and asked him about the scratch and he said it was in perfect condition and I also looked at the radio when I packed it and it was just like it was when it was in the car, no scratch.

The radio worked perfect when in the car, have pictures to show it and have a ton of people around my car and in my car that would back that up. Nothing I sell on here do I try to be shady about. I have sold and purchesed alot stuff from members on here and have never had a problem until now.

I offered to give a refund on this item, that he is not tell you guys about. I offered $60 for it in return and I was not going to pay return shipping. This was after I received the radio first and had a chance to see what was wrong with it. The $60 was based on the time and effort I have in this and shipping and packaging cost. Made $67.67 from paypal on this and also payed $10.85 to ship it to him. So I thought $60 was fair, but he doesn't want that.

He wants $70 plus shipping and then he will ship the radio.

My stand is no radio, no refund. I am not paying return shipping and full refund without the damn radio, now that is crazy.

I feel like I have been scam from the get go. The pm requesting $30 for a scratch to the face and now this. No win for me, out of a radio that is broken for what ever reason. Bad rep from it and now a dispute on paypal that has tied my account up. All for a simple sale of radio that I made $ 57 dollars on all clear.

Fair point RH, Everything is subjective. All I can report is what I have seen and experienced in this transaction. The radio is scratched, and the box is undamaged.

I honestly thought the radio's functionality would not be effected by the scratch.

In retrospect I should have shipped the radio back right then. But I was trying to save further hassle for both of us and to just live with the scratch (assuming the radio worked).

I do not want $70 plus shipping at this point. A refund of $70, shipped back at my expense seems reasonable seeing as you had to ship it to me initially.

What I gather is someone bought a used radio and wishes it to be perfect. My car has 13k miles and is never driven hardly and it has scratches here and there. The radio has some light surface scratches from wiping it down. Post the scratch pic here so we can see such madness.....

I notified the correct people to have the negative Itrader changed on Sherrods account. This deal was more than fair to try to help you out and along with that you said everything was good with the radio. I will be more than happy to help submit any information for the paypal claim so Sherrod gets the money back.

Next time you purchase an item on this forum you need to either keep it or reject it right away, if you reject the item notify the seller FIRST and let them know you are returning it WITHOUT installing it. It's your responsibility to pay shipping back to the seller and submit your paypal claim that way.

Very crazy how it got scratch, not how it was shipped. Picture in my car before I pulled it, no scratch.

Only thing I can come up with is it was damaged during shipping. The packaged was insured for $100 against damage during shipping. But from past experiences it has to be noticed to the shipper when delivery is made.
