JC - You checked with the Merrick PO to see if they still had it?

Yes, I noted that both my wife and I made trips to the local PO with no luck. I just called the dead mail facility number I was given and I was told to go back to the PO to fill out a mail recovery form which I'll do. Apparently these type of items end up in an office in Atlanta.

Dave should put this thread on his list of mandatory reads for new members. They could learn a lot about buying and selling, shipping and handling and respect of other forum members. Because sooner or later we all want to use the classifieds.

I went back to the local PO today and I gave the information of the box, weight and everything else pictured here and I gave it to the post master in my town for them to keep an eye out for it and for them to start a mail recovery form as well, in addition to the form apparently James has started as well. Like I said I will help in finding the package to an extent but I will not devote hours upon hours to this.

Heres what I left today with the postmaster and also my phone number if the package comes back to the local PO since the label will say that it was shipped from my zip code (07646) and will go back to my local PO to check on and start the necessary forms.

I know you all have your own opinions and I respect that and I am not trying to be thick headed about this situation but I am not authorizing a refund due to buyers error in a address. If that package was damaged and mangled to pieces or lost in the mail that a different story however in my eyes I shipped to the confirmed address on time and with tracking. I help my end and I shipped to the confirmed paypal address he provided so in short will I aide him in his search to find it, yes but does he get a full refund do to the wrong spelling on the confirmed address? No.

Everyone else I have sold to here which is over 25 people have had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM whatsoever. Everyone is happy and receives them on time and I always include tracking so they can see when to expect it. I am not pointing fingers at all but everyone who I also dealt with here has confirmed there address in either PM and or in the PP Notes. However this wasnt the case however in good faith I still shipped it to James address since paypal told me it was his confirmed address that is vaild and where he receives packages. I am not being held liable for over 150 dollars in parts for a error that was not mine. Sorry JC but thats where I will stand but I did go to the local PO and gave this to them today and did what I can on my end to start the trace? The Tracking # will help greatly as well however if there is any other info that is needed which I think there isnt at the moment please let me know if there is. If anyone wants to take this further you can PM me and discuss this but this is the first problem I have had in a very long time and I keep my word. When I say I ship it I do and when I say I will ship it a certain way I will go that as well.

If anyone is weary to do business with me thats there opinion as well but as a seller I hold up my end when it comes to shipping but the part I will not hold up is once the package is out of my hands it is no longer my responsibility. Its the buyers for him to double check the spelling as thats his address not mine and I am only fulfilling my duty as a seller to ship it to the address he provides. Like I said USPS doesnt require a return address, is it required? No not at all. Every package I sent here never included one either. But is it a discourtesy to the buyer if this happens? Yes but like I said its out of my hand now and out of my control. I wish this went smoother to be honest but I held up my end of the bargain in my own mind and this is where I stand. What I have done so far here it the length I am going to start the trace unless contacted otherwise to provide further information to aide in your search

Knowing you wouldn't put your return address on a package and don't truly give a shit if the buyer gets it would prevent me from buying from you.

I hope this works out, but you can count on not selling anything to me.

And damn would you learn how to add a picture that doesn't jack up everyone's view?

Thanks for going to the PO Connor. You shouldn't assume that "Mader" instead of "Maeder" caused this. Postman told me this would not cause anything to be undeliverable. Maybe the the label ripped off or the ink ran, not saying this is the case but we'll never know unless the box turns up. Fact is you'd take the exact same stance if I didnt mention the missing E, ship it and wash your hands of the transaction. Simply providing a return address would have avoided all of this.

The problem is we all have faith in our brothers
Well most of us do anyway.

All Internet transactions require a little bit of faith on both parts.

#1 the buyer will pay and not pull funds away after shipment
#2 Seller will ship in a timely fashion and assist in getting the goods to the buyer in agreed shape and condition.

I agree that I would be sceptical on a purchase from said seller.

Time to revoke Conner's classified priviledges IMO.

I agree..

I am going through some bullshit with UPS on the rims/tires I sold to a member here. Long story short is one of the boxes fell apart and the rims in that box incurred some damage. I have been in constant contact with the buyer and my local UPS store following up with the tracer(the one box was lost for a couple weeks), and now the claim on the damage. It will get resolved, no doubt at all.

But my point is, just because UPS boxed everything for me and then shit got lost/damaged, didnt mean that I just say screw it to the the buyer and tell him it was UPS's fault. I did just the opposite.

Conner's classified priviledges should be banned..

I just bought something from him and got it just fine. It was not really what I expected, but that is my fault for not asking questions.

That being said, for him to blame the buyer for incorrect address, when he himself did an incorrect label is totally hypocritical. It doesn't matter that UPS doesn't REQUIRE one, that is standard protocol.

Was it a discourtesy to not include a return address, yes I agree it was but I havent for anyone else item and they all received them fine and it isnt required to attach it either.

The seller is the one that contracted with the shipping company, not the purchasers responsibility to track down the package. You shouldn't have to be shamed into doing what any other decent seller would do...especially when you didn't put a return addresses on your shipment. If this is how much you care about making sure a transaction goes smoothly I'd suggest nobody buy from you. Shipping companies suck and if you sell often enough, things will eventually go wrong, how you handle those situations says a lot.

Everybody is a good seller when everything goes smoothly. But your true character shoes when you have to deal with problems.

USPS sucks dog balls...and donkey dick... I do not ship anything that I want to track or confirm receipt via USPS. I had a valuable shipped from Michigan to New Jersey and it disappeared after 2 hops for 2 months. Once I put in an insurance claim, it miraculously appeared at my door step a week before they would need to pay out the insurance claim.

Yikes. I just realized I just added to a 100 page post... sorry

Just file a claim with PayPal, they will always side with the buyer if there are any problems. If Conner doesn't care that you never got it, that might be your best approach.
