I am looking at finally upgrading my brakes and thought this would be the place to post. The Vorshalg kit looks to fit my needs, the question I have is on the rotors and how they will fair in the elements. I do not know when this Mustang will see a track...so the ability of the rotors to resist rust is important to me.

So the first ? is, do the Centric Preimum Rotors resist rust or do the Stop Tech Power Slot resist rus better?

Second ? is, what Wheels will fit these Brakes.

Any feedback would be welcome

1 - Both Centric & Stoptech rotors utilize an Electrocoating finish that provides long lasting corrosion protection. I believe they are same company.

2 - Which Brembos are you talking about? 4 pot or 6 pot. Basically any wheel made for the GT500 and some mfg will say whether the wheels clear big brakes.

I can respond for the centric premium rotors and can say they will be the only rotors I will every use again going forward. They hold up great, they are "dipped" (if that is the right way to describe it) before being cut on the braking surface so that is only part that can rust. The hat and vents are coated, they haven't started to rust on mine yet. The black has turned purple from the heat though, this is after 8 track days on them with more to come before seasons end.

They would be 4 piston Brembos, I have also seen a post where their may be larger calibers between the Brembo that came with the GT500 and other 4 piston brembo kits for the Mustang.

Did not know that, trying to figure out if that is true. Plus I want the Brembos to work with m ABS system, which I think is a given for these kits.

07-12' Brembo's GT500 are 4 piston. 13' GT500 Brembo's are 6 piston.

I recently upgraded to the Ford Racing Brembo kit, works fine with the ABS

Nice list.

I use the Centrics and they're great. Cheap too- that's what makes them great. As an added bonus, they stop the car.

300 per wheel is MAX,

And really don't want to go that high,,

The 18x10 AMRs from AmericanMuscle.com also fit on all 4 corners and are only $160 each, shipped. They weigh about 27 lbs each. Not super light, but not terribly heavy, either. FWIW, I run them with my 285 "race" tires.

Great Price, was looking at those, wish they came in a silver and not all black...

I like Show and Go, not all GO:thumb:

+1 I use the Centric premium blanks and they are great. Heavy, but a lot of thermal mass. The paint will be gone after one track day if you're really pushing it.

Never had a problem with rust on these but if they ever get any rust on the rotor surface, it will be gone after 1-2 stops on the street.

Thanks ZQUEZ, i'll check them out...

On a side note, your CDC spoiler modification looks great!

Thanks man!

I have the Boss 302S wheels for my street wheels. they look good and clear the brembos but like has been said, they're heavy and tires are expensive. I would stick to a square tire setup and 18s if possible. If I had the coin, I'd be looking to swap my Boss wheels out for just that.
