Cleaning aluminum window covers

I have had these on for several years now and never really paid much attention to cleaning them. I have noticed that when I wax, sometimes I will get some around the edges of the covers and it makes the color look uneven in certain light. I have tried to wax the whole cover with a spray wax and that just makes the finish look even worse. So what are you guys using to clean them?

I would try to clean them with car wash soap and a very soft detail brush. The paint on those covers a very thin. It may take a couple of rounds of cleaning. If that doesn't do it try APC 10:1. Do not wax them use a quality spray sealant like Wolfgang deep gloss spritz.
