Cross Generation Lowering Spring Compatibility?

Quick question…

I have access to some lowering springs for an ‘05-‘08 GT can I use these on my ‘12 Boss?

I have seen mixed answers some say yes, yes but require adapters for the struts, and no.

So can I use them?

The 05-10 strut is different. You would need and 05 -10 strut IIRC. And vs versa.

So let me make sure I am tracking. The 05-10 struts just bolt into my 12? Any loss of performance or down side to doing this?

I was looking for the info for you. I just ran across it the other day but yes you need both springs and struts from 05. The perch is different on the 11 and up. Bilstein b12 kit from Vorshlag is 05-10 strut and springs and can be installed on 05-14.

Curious why you would like to alter the adjustable Boss suspension, is this for styling or did you run into an issue with the Boss suspension?

Style. I would like the retain the adjust shocks, but I would like to lower the car some.

A friend has several sets of springs for the earlier model that I could get for next to nothing. After looking I may just get a set specific to the ‘12.

You can use any spring you want. 05-14 are all the same and dont require you to use a specific strut. If you were to say use 05-10 struts on your boss than yes you would have to use 05-10 gt500 strut mounts. If you are keeping the BOSS struts, throw the springs on it and dont look back.
