Pedders SportsRyder Suspension Review and Tech Info

I have a 2012 Mustang GT and recently replaced the shocks, springs, sway bars, and panhard bar. I purchased the Pedders SportsRyder Suspension Kit (PED-814106) and a BMR Suspension PHR006 panhard rod. Installation was not difficult and it took 4 hours to complete. Here are some tips:

1. Buy some extra silicone grease for the sway bar bushings and you'll need a grease gun w/silicone grease tube for the panhard bar bushing zerks. Use a generous amount on all sides of the bushings. Energy Suspension sells a little tub of it on Amazon, dielectric grease can also be used on polyurethane bushings. Do not use regular petroleum-based grease, WD-40, or silicone spray on polyurethane bushings.

2. When mounting the front sway bar, I cut the backing plate off the stock mounts and used it behind the bushing to give it a more stable surface to mount to (like the factory mount). You'll want to push the mounting brackets up towards the engine as high as possible on both sides to give the bar plenty of clearance. If you don't mount the sway bar high enough it will hit and rub against the cross member brace.

3. You will need large wrenches or adjustable wrenches to adjust the pan hard bar after you install it. The axle will need to be adjusted towards the passenger's side (re-centered) after you install the Pedders springs and shocks.

4. The Pedders front struts will add about 2-3 degrees of negative camber to the front wheels. If you don't like that look, you'll need to get some camber bolts for the front struts. The bolts are easy to install and you can buy them from any online hotrod parts retailer.

5. Cut the rear bump stops in half so you're not bottoming out on them when you go over bumps.

6. Depending on how your exhaust is routed over the axle, you may need to relocate the axle breather from the axle tube to the differential cover. Otherwise the breather will hit the over the axle exhaust pipe. Amazon has a replica Ford Performance finned diff cover that has a breather fitting. They are not expensive and will allow you to relocate the breather without much effort. Of course you will need to change your diff fluid but maybe that's a good thing? :)

I definitely recommend the Pedders kit, the car handles extremely well and looks really good, sits about an inch lower than stock.

4. Recommendation: One thing you can do for the camber issue is to reclock the upper front strut mounts 180 degrees. In many applications (like mine) spinning them 180 takes care of the negative camber after lowering the suspension. I've been running that way for years now with no negative effects. Yes, I had my alignment checked after making the change. Near perfect 0.7/0.8 each side. Best part is no parts are needed and it doesn't cost anything...

As DH mentioned, clocking the strut mounts will work, but for such a minor adjustment camber bolts should work.

I have Ford Racing "P" springs which lower only 1" and my alignment is perfect just with the Moog (2) K90474 camber bolts.

Post pics of suspension.
