Custom AC lines?

Since I put a tube front end on my 05 Mustang several fitment issues have arisen. I’ve tackled most things but the AC lines are giving me fits. So I’m already losing. I have two of the four lines of mounted up correctly, the other two are going to have to be modified or have new custom lines made because of routing issues associated with the tube front end. Does anyone have any experience making or having made custom lines?

Tubing and bending won't be hard, finding the fittings will be tricky. I've replaced/fiddled with the AC lines but I've always used 'made' sets so never had to make whole new lines. Only thing I can think to do there is reach out to a kit-car company that probably does it a lot.

As for bending the tubing, it's not hard stuff but you have to watch you don't kink or snap it. A handheld tubing bender works fine and are cheap.

I don't know a lot of dedicated race cars that have AC systems. Tends to be something they drop for weight/code.

Don’t forget that there are rubber A/C rated hoses available…

My goal is a car that is race ready but street able, and highly modified. What’s funny, is that when I was just out of high school I tore all of the AC equipment out of my 66 coupe. Trying to shave weight and building a fast street car pissed the hell out of my dad. But at 70 years of age… I’m not willing to do without AC.

JC, right. Adapting to Ford style fittings is a bit of the issue, but think I’ve found some.

Pegasus is a good source for hose building. I've used them in the past.

Being in the industry for many years I can say that unless you can find a shop in your area that can professionally make the lines needed including pressure testing might be a costly gesture if they are not perfect. See it there are any shops that do this stuff and have them look at the car so they can help with this process for you. Specifically allow them to measure for clearance and fitment concerns.
