I'm putting together a list of my current build plans for my car. Figure I might as well post em up here and get some feedback. This thread is as much a journal to track my own thoughts as anything, but I do appreciate feedback.

Overall Goals: The car will be road race primarily, but also top speed and mile drag. I'd also like to compete in some drag, drift, etc. Full race car, no need for street manners anymore. I'd like to run in some American Iron Extreme or something along those lines.

Motor: Right now I have a built 4.6L 3V motor that could handle around 1,000hp at the crank. I've already ordered the DOB R-Spec kit, and I'm planning on running it at around 600-800 at first until I build another motor. Eventually, I want to build a 5.8L shortblock using either the aluminum GT500 block or the GT supercar block, then throw 3V heads on it and get some adapter plates for the R-Spec. With that setup I'll likely be able to run a bigger blower, possibly the 4.0L whipple. I'll be shooting for 1,500hp on e85 fully tuned up, though I'll run a lower boost setting for most everything but top speed.

Driveline: Currently I have a stock TR6060 with a McLeod RXT. I'm working towards a steel bellhousing, and eventually I'll get the transmission built, but I don't know what clutch I'll end up with. I'm also still running the OEM GT500 driveshaft, but I'm unsure if I want to run a one or two piece in the future. As for the axle, I'd like to run a wavetrac differential or something similar in a 8.8" housing. I'm doing full floating axles from either Strange or Baer, or maybe someone else.

Suspension/Steering: Right now I have a torque arm, watts link, and LCAs w/ relocation brackets all from Griggs Racing. I'm planning on putting in their full SLA kit up front along with coil overs in the rear. I'm also doing an electronic steering rack, and fortunately Bruce Griggs is working on a K-member for just that.

Brakes: At the time being, I haven't decided on a final course for brakes. I'd like to run 18" wheels, and Baer makes six piston kits that fit under 18" wheels, so that seems the way to go. Unfortunately, they don't offer any smaller rear brake kits, which is disappointing. I don't want to keep the stock rear calipers; they're too small in my opinion for top speed, but six piston rears seems like just a waste of mass. I'd like to use either Brembo, Baer, or Stoptech stuff. My OCD wants to have the same brand front and rear.

Chassis/body: I've already talked to Vorshlag, and I'm going to have them do my roll cage and possibly a Mil-Spec wiring harness. The interior is coming out, and race seats and six point harnesses are going in. Additionally, I just ordered a 2013 radiator support with the intention of doing a 2013 GT500 front clip conversion. I may also have Vorshlag do some fender flares for me, but we shall see.

I think that about wraps up my plans for now... As I figure stuff out I've been finding prices and adding everything up. It's a pretty painful picture right now, but it gives me an idea of how long this build will take. Best guess is a year to two years if my salary and rent don't change.

Welp, figured out the brake situation. Baer makes a set of four piston brakes for the rear. I do need to figure out if I want the R-Spec brakes or not up front.
