You might try some Red Permatex before you spend some money on new clamps. I never had problem with my GTA Clamps.

It just depends on who you ask. Some guys like band clamps (me), some like u-clamps.

I'd probably just go to AutoZone or PepBoys and get some clamps though.

I use 4" wide band clamps. They are much better at sealing the joint without crushing (when installed correctly). $5 at NAPA.

Stepped Band Clamps have always worked well for me. They are the best for slip-fit connections. The 4" wide clamp has a step in it that helps seal the 2 different diameter pipes. It fits and seals much better than the regular band clamps. Also I spray it down with copper gasket seal.
