Keep an eye on Facebook groups. There's usually always someone doing a part out. You could probably snag the entire assembly for pretty cheap. Possibly get one from a premium which would be an appearance upgrade and give you a leather handle with chrome button instead of the plastic.

To me, the most obvious and simple solution is to go to a junkyard or salvage lot and pull one off of one of those cars. You should be able to use one from a wide year-range of Mustangs.

And have you tried going to a dealership and seeing if you can order just the button or are you assuming they'll stick you for the whole assembly? You're probably not wrong LOL, but it doesn't hurt to ask them. They might surprise you.

Also, try e-Bay. Have you Googled it yet?
