Ford Mustang Gt VCT Install

Hello i recently became an owner of a 2012 Ford Mustang GT. The car is throwing a P0015 (b Camshaft Position Timing Over Retarded bank 1)code which when searching online it states to start with changing the vct solenoid. I ordered the 4 solenoid from rockauto. I bought the wells 2t1009. But when the part arrived it seems the connector is different from what the harness has (I have attached 2 pictures to show the connector difference). Is this normal procedure to cut the wiring harness and install a new connector? I also checked ford performance vct solenoids and they have the same connector as the wells solenoid. Also is someone has any suggestions to help resolve the p0015 i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Seems they sent you the updated version. If I remember correctly ford updated these somewhere mid 2012. I heard of people changing out the terminals on the wire harness to accept these updated solenoids. You can press the wire pins out and slide them into the new terminal for a clean swap

This is what I would think. There was a supersession on these.
