After four days I finally completed the install of Ford Racings M-6009-A46X 5.0L ShortBlock. The block has been powder coated with a nice silver finish. This is the first motor I have actually torn down and it was a great learning experience. A friend of mine who has done all the other work on my car let me borrow a bay in his shop and the use of his tools to do the swap. Having the right tools really saved some time and knuckle busting. He was there to provide responsible adult supervision to make sure I was doing it right and jumped right in when I needed a hand. It was great to have that kind of cushion.
I didnt take too many pics as I was trying to get it knocked out. The last items I need to purchase are the ID1000 injectors and the Steeda 10 rib kit with the 15-17lb pulley and that should complete my build.

Just Starting taking everything off the top.

JLT Oil Separator and still have this in the manifold???

Time to go underneath and remove stuff

Pulling the Stock Motor. Stock Motor has 6300 miles on it.

Old motor is out.

New FRPP Block, heads installed and properly timed. Ready for timing cover, valve covers, oil pan etc....

Almost ready to drop in. Getting Closer.

Here we Go. PRW SFI Flexplate with ARP Bolts

First Startup

Dammit Ray, you went ahead and did this without telling me first! Sounds really smooth, just what you want to hear when firing up a new motor. All the build threads I've read about on here with knocks and misses have scared me away from trying to build my own. I'm going to go the exact same route and swap in a FRPP crate short block when the time comes.

Subscribed for more pics, video and dyno numbers. :snoopy

Nice Ray! 17psi is going to be nasty! Do you have a link to that block? I'm on the fence with a SB right now too. The only thing I don't have is well the SB, I've got the fuel, the trans, and the turbo(eboost 2) to turn it up. I just need the SB.

Sorry Brian. I thought I had mentioned it to you. ARGG!!!

Looking good, Ray. Let us know dyno #'s when completed.
Thanks Jay.
Congratulations Ray, motor sounds great. I wish me build and engine swap had gone as quickly and problem free as yours! lol
Thanks Scott

I've read different places that these are 10cc dish pistons and other places that they are 6cc. I'm wondering if there are different configurations and what the CR is for this block.

Looks good. The oil separator won't get all of it.
Thanks Bruce.

Jason, Speaking with Steeda and looking at similar builds with the added cubes of the Stroker, LT's and having a GEN I Whipple the 15-17lb Steeda pulley should put me around the 13-14lb range somewhere and thats fine with me.

Damn it I may have found my next purchase. Thanks for the help Ray! I'm sure that block with some RGR stage 2's would fit perfectly in my engine bay.
