What are you going to do for a center cap on the front? I was told by forgestar that the 18x10 is not what they suggest because the cap will not fit. I guess you could just get a cap custom milled. If you have a place that can do that please let me know. If the cap was not an issue I would do the 10 in front and the 11 in the rear when I order.

Yes, that is correct, the center cap won't fit in the 18x10 on the front. But the wheel itself fits perfectly.

Here's a guy with an 05-09 stang that ran 18x10's on all four corners (with 285/35's) and simply didn't use the caps. I think it looks great and perfectly fine with out them. Actually looks kinda racey IMO:

But if for some reason I decide I don't like that look you are also right in saying that you can have a machine shop get a cap on for you. There is another guy who did exactly that but I am too tired to try and find the thread right now, lol.

Either way, I wasn't going to allow a silly centercap issue stop me from ordering the size I want especially when the wheel itself fits perfect in +42 at all 4 corners. I don't know why Forgestar or AM strictly says "rear only" without specifying they fit perfectly in the front too, just because you can't use the center cap. I gather it's an advertising thing. They want their logo on their wheels. But for the record I had a guy at forgestar also confirm they fit perfectly on the front.

I was wondering though, wouldn't a 285/40-18 fit better? At 27" it's almost the same as the stock height tire. I could see going with the 35 though if you were looking to drop the cg and gear ratio some or run a specific tire.

Right now I'm lost, I can't make up my mind 285 square or a stagger.

Im one who made it work with the center caps with an 18x10 Forgestar rims in the front. It was easy, took aluminium circle same size as the dust cap inner.. drilled a hole through the center and used a rubber grommet to push it on. It stays on perfectly.. No problems.. If I had time I would take my wheel off to show everyone.

yes thats the same guy. He said that mainly because there weren't black lol. Mine arent either. I ordered silver.

In terms of the tire sizes yeah it depends on the look you are going for. Also there aren't as many good options in 285/40. The 3 links I posted all use lower profile 35 (or the 335/30) tires and I think they all look great. if I go with a 40 profile tire it will be those 275/40 conti's because you simply can't beat the price for a top rated tires. You'll pay alot more for not as good a tire in 285/40. Actually even the same exact conti's in 285/40 cost a lot more for a nearly negligible size difference. You are simply paying extra for rarer sizes.

Ahh, there you are. One question though...why do you only ever post that ONE pic of your car. Do you have more/other pictures from different angle and better lighting on the wheels? And yeah it would be great to see a video or pictures of how you did the front center cap! Also, what size tires you running?

I think the Forgestar wheels are great and if made in America I applaud your willingness to pay twice what you would for TSW. The forged rim TSW weigh less than the [according to reports I have seen] Forgestars and cost almost half as much. The style is slightly different but I like both. I don't sell either.

Those TSW's are a very good deal, but I think the Forgestars look so much better. Those wheels are flat faced and the concaveness of the forgestars looks worlds better IMO. it makes all the difference. Also, I personally didn't want black wheels, I wanted silver. And if I did want black I think the piano black FS's look a lot better then the flat black. But if you like the look of the TSW, they are in fact an excellent bang for the buck. At the end of the day it's all just opinions though...to each their own.

I found out the other day when I was cleaning my rims that they are painted Piano Black not powder coated.. I was told by Forgestar that the rims were powder coated turns out its just single stage gloss black ... Lucky for me where I work we also powder coat as well.. So my rims will be done for free..or I have thinking about having them hydro dipped in carbon fiber..

Be careful powder coating forge stars . Someone on here broke one right off at the spokes,where they meet the hub. Forges tar said they can't warranty them because they were powder coated...

We powder coat all kinds of wheels each day, Ive seen ccw, HRE and numerous other high dollar wheels come out of my shop with out any problems.. How in the hell did they break off a spoke???

How did that happen and wouldn' tthat be the powder coaters fault? With that said I heard from another guy who had problems with Forgestars (DusterRT) I think the gold paint was chipping off or something, and he said they had horrible customer service and he'd never order from them again. I certainly hope I don't have that problem with the silver ones I ordered. It's really only 1 coat of paint on those wheels? And why wouldn't they warranty them if they are powder coated? Do they claim it compromises them structurally?

In terms of the offset I specified the offset when I ordered which was +42mm both front and back. I never thought it to be a secret.

Stage1: Reason I asked was yours don't seem to come out as far as the others in the links I posted. Maybe its just the pics.

He was driving threw some twisties and his wheel broke.apparently they said the heat from the powder coating was the issue.he wasn't mad at forgestar.I wish I could find his thread but I cant
