I'm surprised more people aren't going with x10's all the way around. You get the concave look both front and back and get better handling and of course can rotate if using the same tires. I considered getting the 11's out back but decided I don't need a HUGE tire back there. 275 to 295 looks beefy enough in my opinion and remember the bigger you go the more rotational weight you add. The whole reason I went to Forgestar was for 2 reasons: 1) The light weight, and 2) the concaveness of the wheel.

Also note those who want 20's, the 20x11's for some reason are not deep concave, and their regular "semi concave" are nearly flat-faced. Here's the chart:

SEMI CONCAVE
18"
18×8.5 offsets from +26 to +50
18×9.0 offsets from +20 to +55
18×9.5 offsets from +26 to +60
19"
19x8.5 offsets from +26 to +48
19x9.0 offsets from +20 to +55
20"
20×8.5 offsets from +26 to +50
20×9.0 offsets from +18 to +56
20×10 offsets from +31 to +69
20×11 offsets from +48 to +81

22"
22x8.5 offsets from +12 to +51
22x9.0 offsets from +18 to +57
22x10 offsets from +31 to 70
DEEP CONCAVE
18"
18×10 offsets from +16 to +42
18×11 offsets from +23 to +55
18×12 offsets from +36 to +68
19"
19x9.5 offsets from +4 to +42
19x10 offsets from +20 to +44
19x11 offsets from +23 to +55
19x12 offsets from +36 to +68
20"
20×9.5 offsets from +7 to +43
20×10.5 offsets from +20 to +55
20×12 offsets from +39 to +75
22"
22x10.5 offsets from +10 to +49
22x12 offsets from +29 to +68

I think the deep concave look on all 4 would be the way to go. What I really wished would work is sticking the Vossen CV3 10.5 on all 4. I have seen this on a couple of cars (Audi, MB) and it looks amazing IMO. I know you can make a 10 inch wheel work but think a 10.5 is out of the question. I sent an message to Vossen to see if there is any chance.

Maybe someone can help me out with this one... I am not being defensive or anything. I am extremely happy with my setup and that is pretty much all that matters. But does a 10 up front really give you better handling?

Also, how does 10"s all the way around save any weight over 11s in back and 9s up front?

Bottom line......... Seems like you can't really go wrong with the Forgestars!

Ok you picked a perfect angle to show they are not flat. Most other angles you can barely see any concaveness to the wheel. But you did make your point and showed they are not as flat as I thought in the "semi concave version." Also I think you make another good point in that it depends on the car. I saw the 20x11's on a new camaro and it seemed flatter faced then yours.

20x11 is going to look different on every car.

In terms of the handling, well, simply put, a wider wheel up front = wider tire = more ultimate cornering grip. Also, I think having the same size tire at all 4 corners makes it more ideal in terms of handling, cornering & balance.

In terms of weight savings, yes, that's a good point when comparing 10's on all four vs 9F and 11R, but I was simply talking about the rear, since I was set on the 10 up front for concaveness and other reasons stated. And I'm not positive but with regards to rotational mass, I would venture to guess acceleration would be more affected by what's on the rear then what's on the front. Member "Entrenched" has 18x11's out back with BFG KDW2 335/30/18's. Looks amazing but those tires weigh 35lbs each. So you have 22lb wheel + 35lb tire = 57lbs total at each corner. In comparison if I go with 18x10 on the rear with a Continental Extreme Contact DW 285/40/18 which weighs 28lbs, so it's a 21lb wheel + 28lb tire = 49lbs total. That's a significant difference. (Of course if you have as much power as his car has it doesn't really matter, lol) In terms of looks & traction, I decided a 285 or 295 tire, which fits perfectly on a 10 inch wide wheel is beefy enough out back and was worth it for the weight savings, better & less expensive tire choices. There are also other considerations too like hydroplaning resistance & rolling resistance, etc. Also note I was told there is no more concaveness to the 11" wheel compared to the 10" wheel, so it will look the same from the side & angles.

Bottom line though is as long as you are happy with your setup that's all that really matters. You have a sweet setup no doubt. Just a matter of personal preferences and priorities and how many details you want to concern yourself with.. If you really start digging there's a lot to consider when choosing wheels/tires.

Where are you guys buying your 19x9 and 19x11's from?

Hey guys, I emailed Peter @ Forgestar about how some guys have waited such a long time to receive wheels and here is his response:

" Hey Kevin,
The reason some of those customers could have waited is because they either pre-ordered something that wasn’t existant or at the time we didn’t have the material to make the parts and we had to wait for a shipment and then the wheels will go into production which right now is 4-6 weeks. I don’t know who FWS is but we have the parts in stock and the wheels should be done within 4-6 weeks."

Hopefully that relieves some of your fears :)

I got mine from elementwheels.com. If you call ask for Ryan. He worked out some "custom" offsets with me, otherwise you get what Forgestar thinks works best for the S197.

Cheapest price I found was from Forgedwheelsource.com (basically had them beat HoweyIndustries.com which have great prices)

Someone else mentioned they think the best price you can get is directly from Forgestar.

If I were to do it again, I'd get the cheapest quote from vendors, then go straight to forgestar and ask them to beat it.

I am a little surprised at all these long lead time horror stories, and there sure are a lot of them... Mine took exactly 5 weeks from placing the order to getting them in.

However... I won't even mention how long it took me to actually decide on my wheels though. Lol!

I am having that problem.... I'm sure that some of the board members here are just tired of me asking questions. LOL

Ok if someone could help me with the backspacing on these wheels id really like to order some. I want to run 20" all the way around 9.5 up front and 11 in the back. What backspacing should I go with on these wheels? I'd like have the pretty flush, but don't want to rub

Front +35 to +45
Rear +53 to +58

I would recommend splitting the difference so to speak +40 and +55

The Steeda Spyder wheels are 9.5"x20" with a 45mm offset and 11"x20" with a 59mm offset. They fit nearly perfect occasionally you'll find a slight brush on the inner wheel well on both front and back. A 3mm shim would probably cure that but then you're running flush which to me looks like it sticks out but isn't.
