There are cheaper options out there. FedEx does a fairly good job here in the USA. UPS has lower rates, but sometimes a little rougher on the package...

My limited experience mailing stuff to Canada USPS was pretty much the best overall option. UPS would always tack on customs fees. Of course none of them are any good if they damage your item.
