FYI - 2010+ CF doors on the way

Heads up to your hard core racers looking to drop every last ounce of weight.

We're just about to begin on a set of 2010-2014 doors in carbon fiber. Lots of weight to be saved there and they will bolt at the factory hinge if you want to go that route. No worry about voiding the warranty because you can just keep your stock doors in a safe place and bolt them back on later.

We'll be making a type for ultimate lightweight, like your typical race door, but we'll also be offering a version with all the stock mounting points left intact for stock windows, handle, key lock, and such. PM me if interested.

We're taking pre-orders now, and should be shipping the first set around January 1st.





The doors should be near the same weight as any other style of CF door of that size, roughly 8 pounds each bare, give or take a pound. I'll have a more exact weight after the first one comes out of the mold.

Pricing is going to be somewhere between $2200-2500 per pair. As with all of our other CF parts, the finish will be clear and glossy inside and outside. You won't want to paint them, they'll look so nice, but if you do, our parts always come ready to scuff and shoot. Zero body work required and zero excuses.

on fo sho its a racecar only mod IMO, for guys looking to shave every last pound. as to savings, I'd be guessing, but I could see 60-65 lbs per side depending on what glass you have and what options on the door (power etc)

Sucks I have a minimum legal weight to run in my local class. With a set of these doors and a CF hood/trunk I could easily have my car under 3000lb with me in it. And that is with a 10pt, turbo kit, and a2w with a 5 gallon tank.

Someday I will go all out for fun.

Edit...the what it weighs sticky says 81lbs for full 05-09 doors w/ glass. Good thing I'm broke or I'd say screw making legal weight and just go for it. That is very large weight savings.

I just checked the weight of the empty shells I have in the shop that we are making the mold from. Completely stripped of all hardware whatsoever, they weigh 46 pounds. If you used the doors in stock configuration and re-installed all glass and hardware to the new carbon doors as if stock, your minimum weight savings would be about 37-38 pounds per side, and 74-76 pounds total for the pair. If the 81 pound figure above is correct, then installing lexan and a minimal amount of functional hardware should result in a loss of more like 70 pounds per door, and 140 pounds total.

Always nice to be under weight so you can add ballast where it will help. Just curious what you weight is now ? 3000lbs is light for a S197, Are you a Horse Jockey frame kinda guy, I can't imagine a S197 with driver at 3000lbs

Car has been as light as 2960 without me in it. I have to weigh 3300lb with driver, so nice to be able to add back in where I need it, but don't want to go too far. If I fall ass first into a bucket of money I'd still like the doors though.

I'm about 170.

I'm going to say a lot less savings than that. Everything I do to these cars it amazes me how little weight it saves. I just worked on one of my doors. Removed the entire crash beam, cut out all the un-needed interior metal just like this picture. Removed the speaker, scraped out the sound deadener, left out the plastic weather shield. Put everything into a plastic bag and weighed it. Ten lousy pounds.

My 60lb guess was with the CF shell and a Lexan window vs. OEM
