Hey everyone! So I figured I’d come on here and confirm my theories… I’ve got an 07 v6 with an automatic shifter, and i’ve had many many many… problems with the gear shift. For starters, I’ll put it in park/neutral, and the RPMs would drop drastically or completely just kill the car. the SES light and Battery light would come on at that point. As for my other issue (it’s been a problem for a looong time), the throttle response feels so extremely slow and weak, and the gear shift locations are never the same. After reading on some other forums (that happened to be mustang related too), apparently the main problem could be a sensor called the MLPS (manual lever position sensor), and it’s located somewhere on the transmission. Another couple ones said that it could also be the throttle position sensor, neutral safety switch, or even the speed sensor. Where are all of these located, and which one could mostly affect the listed problems? Thanks guys!
