Took me a month to decide what to do with this color mustang. But I figured a retro "tribute" wouldn't hurt.

What with all the riced/euro themed stangs around here.

So here is my list thusfar

Mustang Lettering above decklid
Taillight Trim
Black Fuel door
Magnetic panel
Plasti Dipped 18 fanblades.
Quarter Window Louvers

Future plans
Xenon Side scoops
Agent 47 Mirrors
18x9/18x10 Matte Bullitts.
Chrome Door Handle Covers
Taking off GT emblems and replacing them with Mustang Script emblems.
SVT style hood. Closest I could find to a 68 GT style.
Spoiler delete this weekend...just hoping I can sand the plugs to sit flush.

As you can see I'm going old-school with some modern/personal touches.

The end result is a fastback tribute of sorts. It's simple and well the color is dead on with the old 67+s

May be a minute before I finish the rest of the looks as I want to finish my last 3 bolt ons first.

Take the Mustang Lettering on the decklid off and the car looks great. Ford didn't put a mustang or blue oval emblem on these cars because they don't need them!

I agree with that to a point.
But this is what I'm basing off of.

It's not the best pic, but you can see how the lettering is done.

I like it for the most part. I'm not a big fan of the fanblade wheels but I think that the black makes them better looking than stock. I think the lettering is tough to pull off with the 3rd brake light. I think the lettering would look good with a small ducktail spoiler like the CDC ones, that way it would cover the third brake light. It would also be very unique as I can't remember seeing someone do that.

EDIT: Forgot to read the list of future mods. I think all of them will look pretty good though I'm not sure how the side scoops will look with all of it. Not saying they won't look good, just have to wait and see. I still think you should think about the CDC ducktail spoiler.

Mirrors are on plan.
I love the agent 47 mirrors. Had em on my 09 4.0

As for scoops...I've actually still been on the fence on that....
The CS are too new edge for me. And the Cervini's are expensive and unpainted.

here are some links to a mustang I found on the internet. I'm not going anywhere near what he's doing. But you can see the side scoops.

As for the rims. TOTAL AGREEMENT!!

But it's what's on the car. I just plasti dipped them cause well anything is better than that.

As for the other comments.

SPOILER:
Sorry but unless I go pedestal and with my Mach build which I can't finish due to the Magnum 500s being nixed, there will be no spoiler. I personally think these look good without one.

LETTERING:
I was going as close as I could to the old fastbacks....but the more I look at it, I'm starting to agree...will have em taken off when I get my trunk painted so no one will see my drunk spoiler delete mess.

I appreciate the input.
I was trying a one off build.
Around here it's either just run of the mill stock...or riced.

As for rims...
I'm stubbornly old school in many ways.

I know the whole world runs Bullitts. But I love the old school look of torque thrust style rims...I know I suck.

I will agree that many of the brands I see on here look good. But I think they look good on other's cars.

I know I'll probably get burned for even considering AM branded rims. But I've been looking at the following.

Black bullitt motorsports staggered.

Black 10th anniversary staggered

GT4s Staggered Black

Eventually I'll be lowering 1 up front and 1 1/4 out back.
I won't go any bigger than 18s.
I'd prefer 17s so I could actually have meat on my tires...but due to the price of wheels/tires, I will be sitting trying to figure it out. If you guys have any ideas that would compliment my oldschool type look, I'd gladly check em out!

I like the rear quarter window replacement pieces but the black gas flipper door highlights the fact that there are two gas caps on the S197 mustangs. The rear one on the side and the fake one of the back. If you are looking to make it look like a 1966 model based on the quarter window louvers then you need to find a way to hide the fender gas filler door instead of accentuating it.

My 2 cents. :)

That's why I kept my stocker.

But free was free. lol

At the time I had to do something.
I also note the original didn't have a blackout decklid..that was a 70s thing...but let's face it Legend Lime isn't the world's best color.

Black really makes it pop.

The two actual hard things I've been going on with are wheels and a hood that mimics the hoods the GTs got. They had those heat extractors....I find the Cobra style to be close..the cervini is too GT500...

Delete the the third brake light from the decklid and get one of the CDC ones that you can mount from the inside. I see that you said you don't want a spoiler but thats why i had suggested the CDC spoiler because it hides the third brake light to give it a more old school feel.
