Grand Theft Auto 5 Coming Spring 2013

I expected the city part to be bigger. i'd like to see an overlay of how big the other maps were compared to it. everyone says its bigger than the last one, red dead and san andreas put together. that's just hard to believe.

It's WAY bigger. It's 49 square miles. Go to Youtube and search for GTA5 map. You'll see a few videos to put it into perspective. They show screenshots of landmarks that are huge, like the bridge in the northwest out by the lake. Then they show an outer shot of it on the map and it's this tiny lil speck in comparison to the rest of the map.

Ign has a video doing just that. They overlay the other games and there is plenty to spare. All of GTA San Andreas fit inside the downtown area of this game. Red Dead was just a small section of the "outdoors" area of the map.

hell yeah. did you all see what they are planning for the multi-player? on IGN they said over 500 missions, some single player and some coop.

Well shit. I pre ordered at the Best Buy down the street from my house. Now it's looking like I have to go up to Woodward, OK on Sunday for two weeks.

That is going to be so much fun! I have to say, I'm a lil concerned that they are only allowing 16 players in multiplayer. The map is SO big that they could have had 32 players in a game and it still would have seemed not crowded at all.

I guess they are going with 16 just to make sure it runs smooth on this current gen system...maybe. if 16 people were in the same spot tearing shit up it seems there would have to be some lag.

I just know im ready to play this damn game NOW.

How does the multiplayer work? Do you just go into a lobby and look for people to play with?

They were talking about lobbies and a voting system similar to COD where you can vote on the next mission. My guess is it will be matchmaking similar to COD where you are matched with people that have a good connection to you. But you can also do private where only your friends can join.

Multiplayer won't be available until October 1st. No additional fees or anything like that it just won't work until then.

+1 I'm going tonight with a friend. The only thing that concerns me from the gameplay vids is the driving and damage physics. Looks pretty damn arcade-y. GTA IV's physics were excellent IMO. We'll see tonight, but looks like they've taken a step back in that department

Xbox players - DO NOT install both discs! Only install the first one otherwise it will slow down your frame rate a little bit.

If your DVD drive sounds like a jet engine you can install the play disk (disk 2) to a USB drive to avoid the frame rate hit and texture pop-in from what I've heard.
