Hi, I'm Tim from Nebraska and...I'm not an alcoholic. ;) :D

JK, new member here & found this site from another Mustang Forum (IMBOC). Way back when I was a wee teen, owned 1969 Mach-1, 1970 302 Boss & 1984 Ghia (4-cyl, don't ask why). Last summer my son bought a new/2016 Mustang GT/CA-edition and I had to teach him how to drive manual tranny. Well...ended up having serious flash-backs to days of youth (mid-life crisis, or label what you want) & started searching for my own pony. Fell in love w/the 08/09-era Bullitt's and landed one in June 2016...DHG #6005 w/15K on the ODO. Nice to be back in the saddle and loving the ride. Working a few mods w/more to follow.

More about me, originally from MN (farm) and joined Air Force in 1984. Did my 20-yrs and ended-up here in NE working on the same AFB I retired at...same unit too. I'm a comm weenie (Cyber Security) and I'm married to my HS Sweetie (going on 32-yrs). Have a son (23) and daughter (19) who both stayed close to home. Motorsports are my thing and I run/ride everything from mowers to big rigs. Currently own 2006 Colorado 4WD, Harley Touring bike (09 FLHX), Harley Sportster (03 XL1200S) and the Bullitt (2009 DHG). Working on my 2nd retirement and hope to learn + contribute to this great forum. Cheers!

Tim

Welcome. Interesting history. I'm from a farm in south eastern SD, joined the USAF in 1984 but only did 4 years with a 2 month extension so I could get an assignment in Germany. I was also in the Comm Squadron but the LG side of the house, Weather Equipment Specialist.

Glad you found your Bullitt. One of my all time favorite Mustangs.

Edit: By any chance did you fly out of Sioux Falls on Jan 13 1984 for Basic?

Thanks Bruce & no, I flew out of Minneapolis/St. Paul in Sep 1984. My 1st AF career was Fire Protection, but I know some of the Weather training was at Chanute AFB - were you there in late '84 - early '85 by chance?

I was at Chanute for 9 months. IIRC it was March to November of 1984. From there it was Tinker in OKC with two tdys. One to Enid (Vance AFB) to support the National Severe Storm Laboratory and one to Wright Patterson to support the move of Tactical Weather Equipment depot from Tinker to Wright Patt. From there it was Hahn AB in Germany where I was just another normal Weather Equipment guy in the Comm Squadron.

Welcome to the site. One word of warning, reading about what you can do to your car will probably result in a supercharger at some point.

Cool...we probably just missed each other, or overlapped a few weeks b/c I got there mid-Nov 84. I liked Chanute, similar to home and lots of history.

Haha on the upgrades...my son's already talking supercharger for his '16 Coyote so I might have to do the same to keep up w/him. ;)

I think that Vortech or Paxton offered a "Bullitt" version of their supercharger. It was flat black and looked like it belonged in the engine bay.

I might of missed it but where are you at in NE? There is another member from eastern NE and surprisingly enough he has a Bullitt but it's not stock anymore, lol. He used to go by "Fuel" but now I think the username is JoshK.
