Recently, I started to get a weird grinding/stuttering noise when my automatic transmission shifts. The grinding noise can start from the 5500-6000 rpm range and only happens when it floored. My guess is that it has nothing to do with the transmission and everything to do with the cat being plugged up causing to much back pressure but I'm not quite sure so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't hear it real well but could it be a rattling heat shield or something? I don't see our trannies grinding, never heard of that.

Well, funny thing, I don't think its tranny. If I reset the ECU it stops for quite a while, so I think its a faulty ECU.

Test the ECU to see if it's faulty, or have you already?
