How well do these cars hang with the LSX powered vehicles?

My car feels "quick" but not as raw as my Z28 did, maybe its because it is made better, but maybe it just isnt as fast.

Any run ins with LS1/LS2 goats, TA's, camaros, C5's?

Post their mods, your mods, and results.

I'm referring to the 4.6 cars.

my 3v was a typical bolt on car. intake/OR X/mufflers/cams/tune/4.10s. as long as it didnt have a cam or blower i could run with just about any LS1/2 i came across. made around 330whp.

What tires were you running? LS1's are top end cars, my only jump on one would be in first, which I get no traction in, nor second. With brand new tires.

i was on 275/40R18 sumotomos. the gears really wake up the 3v cars.

Given equal drivers it may be a good run. Like anything there are several variables that come into play.

My 98 ta was a dog and only went 13.7@102 with an auto and 2.73's (lid and catback)...yet it did feel alittle quicker than my 3v. Then a buddies 02 went 13.2@107 with an auto and 2.73's (Bone stock).

The lsx is certainly a strong motor...there's no denying it. Both have great potential and it's been proven.

Stock for stock, I wasn't able to keep up with a ls1 trans am. With a intake, tune, and a offroad x pipe I was dead even with one at the track. My dad has a 04 z06 that he never drives with a full exhaust and a intake and that car has torn up most of the terminators it saw. Raced a 2012 gt500, can't say who won because it was more of a "can you keep up game." Problem with mustang owners, they can't stand the fact that Chevy has been making faster cars for more than century. If you spent the money on a z06 that most of the people on here spent on their cars, the z06 would shit bricks.

:roflmao: ls1tech awaits you. You're comparing apples to peaches. A zo6 isn't in the same category as a Mustang. Now, compare a GT500 to a zo6 and see what happens :thumb:

i'll back that up. my 02 TA went 13.2 but at 105. it was also an auto and bone stock all the way down to the paper air filter.

All LSx cars are not created equally. Even LS1 cars were not created equally. '02 T/A is going to rape a '98 T/A...they got faster as the years went on, for several different reasons.

Either way, stock to stock I think the 3V matches up pretty well to the LS1 cars, with a slight edge going to the LS1s. My 3V went 13.2 @ 105 with a CAI and SCT flash. That's right in stockish LS1 Fbody range.

The LS2 GTOs have an even bigger advantage vs the 3V cars, but it isn't as dramatic as the insane die hard GM guys will have you think.

Honestly...I've always really liked all of the LSx stuff, but I think the LS1 Fbody is probably THE most overblown, overhyped car in gearhead history. On the internet they all run factory 12s, then in reality you'd see stock ones running high 13s.

I ran a buddy of mine a few times he has 02 Chevy ss, with headers, pullies, slp intake, and an awesome tune, stock gears and auto, When we ran my car was not tuned. I think we ran from 30 mph roll and we both started pretty even then he kept pulling like a train, I didn't feel bad due to he runs high 12 and beat my friend that drives a 12 challenger srt 8, that same night.

When i had my 06 with just a Cai/Tune/Exhuast i pulled my buddies Lid/tune 02 z28 by about half a car.

Then i added Lts/4.10s and pulled my buddies 6.0 gto by about half a car from a slow roll. Never got the chance to run him from a dig, but if so i would have had him by more. With the same set up, i ran faster than multiple c5s at the strip (12.9@107). That could have been there driver mod though, idk.

Never truely ran anyone with my weight reduction/blower on, but i put an asswhooping on some D-bag in a 570hp bentley Continental GT vert who kept fucking with me, smh. Lighting up my tires at 45mph got his attention. His shit was slow.

^^not that this encounter means anything.

Everything above was on stock tires.

I gotta say I think the LS GTOs and Mopar SRT8s are. Everyone claims these cars will run 11s with mild mods but I've honestly only seen a handful of them crack into the 12s.

I have a buddy with an MS4 cammed 99 z-28 Camaro. I cant wait to walk him when I get the turbo done. He's also running 4.10's, Ls6 intake, SLP lid, and full exhaust.
