Thats not true, some cam only or heads & cam ls1/2/3 would smash most Bolt on 5.0's.
Im no ls fan but don't sleep B!
True, got a buddy with a 2001 T/A with a small cam, mild ported prc 5.3L heads, and a stall running bottom 11's in near full weight.

Search bullitt vs ctsv in YouTube and you can watch me walk away from a cammed ls6 on stock tires![]()

I fuckin hope so with a bigger engine, heads and cams![]()
Agreed.. only way I was able to defeat C6 Z06's when I was stock was to switch to drag radials, then I was able to beat them at the track without adding power.
3v<ls1<5.0
There ya go. LS1 cars are going to have the advantage over the 3v mod for mod, and 5.0 will have the advantage over the LS1 cars. Corvettes are obviously going to be a bit quicker due to weight and LS2 GTOs are equivalent to LS1 Fbodys.
One thing to remember with Fbodys is they have an extremely weak rear end so most people stay away from any sort of sticky tire. So usually Mustangs with sticky tires have the advantage at the track, dig on the street or a sub 30mph roll
How are you comparing a $35k car to a ~$10k car? Spend half of the price difference in a ls1 then come back and tell me when you lose to a bone stock 5.0... The rear end tends to break in those cars when you are in the mid 400 hp range. I don't know who told you ls1 owners are too scared to run sticky tires...
It's as simple as this. Mustangs are sexy as hell, sounds sexy, and drives sexy. F-bodies are ugly, ride like crap, feel like crap, and are hard to work on. I drove a 02 trans am while my car was in the body shop, and the lower end power on the trans am was ridiculous compared to my 3v.
The question was how well do these cars hang with ls cars, not which car is better overall. Its common knowledge that the 7.5 rear end doesn't like sticky tires, and most Fbody owners not wanting to break the rear end stay away from them. Go check out LS1tech and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Looks are subjective, I personally think that LS1 cars look better than the Mustangs, but they are very harsh and very unrefined. The Trans Am that you got was probably a 2.73 geared auto car, its common knowledge that the LS motors make awesome torque way down in the rpm band compared to a mod motor
Well I was just trying to inform ultraclassic that an ls car doesn't need "F.I. or bottle induction" to beat a 5.0.
I would hate for him to get walked by an all motor LS car the very first day he decides to bring his car out.
Mine was pretty nice. I definitely miss the raw power, the top end was more impressive than the low end IMO. Just fucking screamed, but I sold it about 16 months ago, so I don't have a recent comparison against an s197. Theres a lot of shit kickers around my town with them who think they're Bugati's, just want to know what im against if I run one. Theres not many videos with the two running.
My last one:

C6 z06's are by far the worst at the track. Lol. Those rubber band tires they have are complete trash
You are fucking stoned if you think an Fbody looks better than an s197.
