Went to the track tonight. It was a nice cool night and it was the first time I ran the car without the front sway bar.
First run I ran my best 1/8 mile time
8.71@84mph, and that was spinning.
The next run I really heated up my tires, and went for it, the car dead hooked and bogged, on the 1st to second shift I got a nice crunch.
My next run same thing, heated up the shit out of the tires and dead hooked, Lifted nicely then on the 1st to second shift crunch, only this time it would not even go in.
Now every time the car is rolling and I shift to second....crunch!

I think the torque leaving the line moved my drivetrain too much and that made me loose my second.
Does this sound like a fucked syncro?
If so how do I go about fixing this. I have said it before ... the only thing I hate about my S197 is the shifter!!!!!!
Any help would be great.

the car has about 14k miles. Would this be covered under warranty maybe?

certainly should be if your not too highly modded and the dealer. I broke my tranny on a bad 3-4 shift about 2 yrs ago. Dealer rebuilt the tranny under warranty, did not cost me a dime, blower and all. needed syncros, shifter forks and one or two other parts.

Modded???LOL!!

All I have is a tune, all else is stock. Do you think the dealer will try and give me a hard time?

trying to do my best with that set-up. Last night if it wasn't for the tranny issue I know I would have ran an 8.5? in the 1/8.

just bring it to the dealer and take the tune out. Whatever you do, just don't tell them you were racing. Tell them you were driving normally pulling away from a stop light and this happened

no reason for them not to honor the warranty IMO, if you want to be safe, just have the car back to stock when you go there.

The car has drag radials on! I know the guys at the dealer aren't Sherlock Holmes, but I think they might be smart enough to put 2 and 2 together.
I think it would be a good idea to put my street tires back on. Also I should erase the track car number on the front and rear windows.

My alternator went out and my car was still under warranty but I thought they wouldn't cover it since I put a S/C on it and moved the alternator and changed the pulley but they did.

I am going to call the dealer in the am to see if I can get the TSB done on mine also.

Do you all think the dealer will do it w/ the Whipple 550 HO kit on it?
I am pretty friendly w the guys there so I hope they can help....

And not rubber to scrape out of the wells yet...have not been to the track with it yet... ;)
