Texas Motorplex Racer Information Sheet

Racer Information Sheet
March 20-21, 2009
Due to the overwhelming response to PINKS All Out coming back to the Texas Motorplex and in the interest in getting everyone into the facility in a timely and safe manner, the Texas Motorplex will be opening its gates to park race cars on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 12:00 Noon until 7pm. Racers can begin lining up in the spectator parking lot on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 6:00 am in the Morning. We are asking that all racers not arrive at the track before that time. The line to park will begin in the main spectator parking lot and we will send groups to the Racer Entrance (Gate 10). We are asking all racers to go directly to the main spectator lot to get in line, DO NOT go to Gate 10 to enter the facility until the line in the main spectator parking lot is gone.

If you are arriving after the 7:00 pm cut off time on Thursday, March 19, you will be directed to stack in line in the main spectator lot until we open the gates on Friday, March 20 at 8:00am. We will be following the same process on Friday & Saturday mornings that we used on Thursday. The line will start in the main spectator lot and we will send groups over to the racer entrance until the line in the spectator parking lot is gone.
When arriving at the gate, please be ready to present your drivers license and to declare your Estimated ET to be issued your Tech Card and racer admission tickets. If you have additional crew that you need to purchase tickets for, you will need to be ready to purchase those tickets at that time as well. Additional Crew tickets are $30.00 each person at the gate.
At this point the Texas Motorplex staff will park you, first come first serve. There will be no saving spaces, so if you are interested in parking with friends you will all need to arrive at the same time to be parked in the same area. Only tow vehicles will have Pit Access, all others will be parked in other parking lots.

Please review the attached map for important event locations.

TECH & Registration:
Racer TECH & Registration will be on Friday March 20 from 10:00am – 6:00pm. We will call racers to TECH by the number that is on the TOP RIGHT CORNER of your Tech Card. cool. can't wait for PINKS to hit Famoso here in September! i missed the 1st batch of entries but hoping somehow i can still find a way in. they are supposed to have a couple of events for winners to gain a free entry into PINKS but i'm not sure if they're still going to have it... i was REALLY hoping to get in down here. either way have fun and post videos and pics of the event

1- I'm not going. It is a ridiculous fucking madhouse. People started getting there yesterday for the event tomorrow.

2- No photo or video equipment allowed on the day of the taping.

Well in case anyone cares....

What I have heard is that they picked an 11 second field that ranged from 10.80 to 11.10ish. Pretty much all the cars picked were mid 10 second cars that were holding back. They didn't have enough to fill the 32 car field so they ran 16. All the 10.5 and faster guys were crying like babies because they picked an 11 second field, and most of the crowd was uninterested in the last 8 races. Should make for "real entertaining" television.

Whiners... nothing wrong with an 11-sec field, as long as it's close racing. Although, 3/10 spread doesn't sound tightly bunched. 1/10 would be good.

The biggest gripes seem to have been:

1- Only picking a 16 car field when they could have went with a half second faster class and had 200 to choose from.

2 - Telling them in the drivers meeting that they had no idea what field they were going to choose, but there would be a 32 car field. Then less than two hours later Rich telling the crowd that they had received a ton of emails and had already decided to choose an 11 second field because that was what was most requested.

3 - Whining and crying from everyone that says they always pick a 10 second field so they went out with 10 second cars and they choose an 11 second field. So now those same whiners are all saying how the show sucks and what do you expect from a TV show and they never watch it anyway (yeasureokfinewhatever..... )
