I'm upgrading my OEM front and rear brakes to the Wilwood SL6/SL4. Is the GT brake master cylinder/fluid reservoir the same as the GT500 to accomodate the greater brake fluid capability of these larger calipers?

Wilwood SL6 (Front) #140-9110 with #220-9111 flexline kit and SL4R (Rear) #140-9221 with #220-9248 flexline kit, and the Wilwood parking brake line kit, #330-11221. 14" two piece rotor (front) and 13" (rear).

Thanks!

Hey, Steve Poe - I saw you at VIR this past weekend with NASA. I stopped by your car and rig, but you looked busy - flushing your brake fluid, etc. at the time. Nice Mustang!! I was driving the dark grey Corvette C5 parked across from you guys up the hill. Hot as Hell that weekend!

I use the stock GT brake master cylinder/fluid reservoir with my GT500 Brembos and have lots of capacity.

Hope that helps even though it is not the question you asked :)

Thanks! I stopped by the Ford dealership today and they confirmed the GT and GT500 have the same brake master cylinder/fluid reservoir. I felt confident about going with the front Wilwood calipers since many upgrade to the GT500 Brembos, but I wasn't sure about when also upgrading the rear calipers. Ford and Wilwood said I'm "Good to Go". :thumb:

I'm scheduled to get them installed on 11 August at Excessive Motorsports! I'll see if I can break away from work that day for a few hours and get some photos of the install.

Just discussing GT500 upgrade with stock rears on another string with Steve Poe. Have you had any problems with F/R bias? Steve thinks it could be a serious issue.

I won't have an opportunity to test and evaluate the new Wilwood BBK until the end of August at the Virginia Internationl Raceway. I'll provide a full report when I get back. You can adjust the bias by changing the type of brake pads, e.g., Some run Hawk DTC-70 or Carbotech XP12 on the front and use DTC-60 or XP10 pads on the rear, etc. I don't believe I need to install any GT500 ABS components to achieve my results based on what I've read and learned to date.
