One of my other money pits is my technic Lego car collection. I'm over a dozen now, but this is my first custom job.
Lego Ford GT, street vs track
The blue car is the way Lego put it out, but in my opinion, the race version is the way it should of been issued.

A couple of the panels don't exist in red. I had my local car paint place match an existing red panel, mix up a can of water based paint and used my airbrush to turn them red. I'm happy with how it turned out, but want to tweak a few things here and there

I am not into Legos but my Nephew who works for Audi is…

42,000+ piece RC Lego Audi he bought in Copenhagen.

Thought you would find it interesting.

42160 is the set number, that one has 914 pieces. Cool build, even cooler that it's RC! I've contemplated adding an RC/motor system to a couple of mine, but I like just looking at them, lol

My biggest 2 are the Lamborghini Sian and the Bugatti Chiron, they're almost 4k pieces each.

I was intrigued because I had never heard of a set that big. Even the Titanic, which is a 1:200 scale, is 9000 pieces. I couldnt imagine a 42000 piece lego car, that would be super intense, and stupid expensive.lol

I grabbed LEGO 42213 last weekend, and building it was a blast. The suspension setup and steering details are really well done, and the V6 looks pretty legit for a set that size. Took me a few hours, but it was way more fun than I expected. Definitely looks good on the shelf next to my Mustang memorabilia.

It's amazing how far Lego has come since my first kit from a Velveeta promotion on the side of the cheese box in 71. Or the Fun Meal toys at Burger Chef...
After a brief stint as a paperboy, my next money making scheme was snow shoveling. As soon as I had $25, I'd put down the shovel and push broom and jump on the bus to Target, even if it was still snowing or blizzard-ish, and spend two hours pacing the toy aisle trying to decide which Teknic (78-79, early ones) kit I wanted.
Still have virtually all of it.
