Before I was able to build about 8lbs of boost leaving on the 2step. For shits and giggles I recently dumped my exhaust in front of the axle. (no cats or mufflers). Now I can only build about 2lbs of boost on the 2step. My question is would the lack of back pressure cause this?

Basics are Stock block, THP single 76mm kit.

Yes. A freer flowing exhaust will let the I unburnt charge pass the turbo sooner. Before it was backing up a bit and lighting off.

Well last week I was running 7.50s consistant in the 1/8th with 1.5x 60ft times. (dumped, building low boost on the line) I think I'll put the exhaust back on and see if there is a change.
