Ok so I plan to install a magnum trans in my car. Any tech tips I should know before I start? Also how will it effect my et's if I install 4.56's at the same time?
Sorry about that. I'm going with the 2.97 first gear trans. I run a 28 inch slick with 3.73 gears and the mt82 trans. Car is n/a and has been 11.1 at 122 with current setup.
60 ft is low 1.5's
Hey guys. I have the 2.66 magnum and track my boss only. Swapped to 3.90s but still lack some accel. Should I go 4.10s or 4.30s? Will be adding TVS down the road.
Thanks.

Im installing my magnum right now. When I did the math if you have a 3.73 gear mt82 it will be very close with the magnum and a 4.88 gear in 4th
Im going with 5.14's which would be like a 3.90 in an mt82
for the gearing calculator lets pick an rpm 7800 and a tire size 28"
mt82 with 3.73 rear gear
1st 3.66 48mph
2nd 2.43 72mph
3rd 1.69 103mph
4th 1.32 132mph
magnum xl with 4.88 rear gear
1st 2.97 45mph
2nd 2.10 63mph
3rd 1.46 91mph
4th 1.00 133mph
magnum xl with 4.30 rear gear
1st 2.97 51mph
2nd 2.10 72mph
3rd 1.46 103mph
4th 1.00 151mph
with a 122mph trap speed that will put you around 6300rpm thru the traps
You don't want to compare 4th gear to 4th gear. You compare the magnums 4th gear 1:1 to the MT82's 5th gear 1:1
Be prepared to be disappointed with those 5:14's!
I put a magnum in my car and when I tried to get the ratios updated in the tune, I was told that can't be done. I have read that it can, is there something I can tell the tuner to convince them to do it?
