ok, planning on roofing the gazebo in a couple of days with a buddy of mine. Going to use asphalt shingles on the gazebo. Still not sure what color shingles to go with, but i'm thinking sticking with a charcoal color since that's the color of our home's roof. Hoping we can get this done in a day if we get started early enough. Hope it comes out the way i want it to so i can finish painting the bottom of the roof boards and lay down another layer of wet look concrete sealant after cleaning up the floor.

just got back from home depot and bought most of the material. Didn't think it was going to cost so damn much to roof such a small roof. Already spent over $400 and still need staples and a couple other things. Don't even know if i bought enough packs of ashphalt shingles. I'm on the verge of taking this all back and just painting the roof the same color and call it quits. I can use the $300+ in savings from roofing and use that do finish the garage instead. I'd really like the epoxy the floor in the garage like you had done to yours.

Is that kit not like the kits they sell at home depot and lowes where it seems like it actually has a thicker layer of epoxy over the cement? it might just be the pics but it seems like it just colored the cement in the pics.

It's a more friendly epoxy kit, I've had customers tell me the lowes kits will stick to hot tires when they pull in the garage. We've got more industrial grades of epoxy that run 70 to 80 dollars a piece for the epoxy and hardener. The good thing about the industrial epoxy is you can get any color you want though.
As for the thickness of mine I did not lay down a thick coat of it and it's a light gray so it looks almost like the concrete.

Little by little when it hasn't been raining here, I've painted an hour at a time. Should be done painting the roof pieces by the end of the weekend and hopefully be done with paint so I can add a second coat of wet look sealant on the floor. I can also get around to hanging the lanterns back up and ready for those summer nights when we can enjoy the gazebo with a few chairs around it drinking some beers.

I also want to start replacing the fence boards to match the new fencing we had put up a while ago.

Haven't posted in here in a while. Here's the gazebo finished with paint. Just need to buy the candles for the lanterns and I'll be ready to move over to the garage project.

Stopped at ikea on the way home from San Diego. Finally found a painting we both liked to put over the fireplace. Had a small clock on there before that didn't fit too well.

Modding your house can take ten years! LOL Like the painting and the gazebo has come out great. I redid my bedroom furniture today. Carrying dressers and endtables upstairs and taking a giant ass tv cabinet downstairs wore me out. Feels good to get things how you like it. Funny story, we were picking up our 3 new dressers and endtables and I told my Gf no way was I putting that old POS tv on my new furniture.....had to get a new 32` tv for the bedroom. LOL

I did my garage floor with the home depot epoxy kit 7 years ago and its looks as good today as it did when I first installed it.

Does anyone have any recommendation for some outdoor speakers and radio? Waterproof setup. I'm wanting to add some speakers and radio to my gazebo now that I finished painting and putting up the candle lanterns.
