Hey everyone this is my first post here I recently acquired a 2007 Mustang GT. I had to redo the timing so chain, tensioners, guides, phasers and VCT. Car drove fine but I had a constant engine light for cam position sensor bank 1 & 2 and cam position sensor circuit bank 1 & 2. Fast forward my cranking on startup began taking longer and longer I would put the key in ( I like to “prime” the system first ) wait a few seconds, push the key to crank position and have to wait roughly 3-4 seconds before it would fire up. Fast forward again crank times are similar and idling off crank was rough but mellowed out shortly after NO OTHER ISSUES PAST CRANKING. I replaced spark plugs as they were necessary and nothings changed. Fast forward a little more me and my father smell a very punjent fuel stench coming from the motor during crank & when ignition is off so we began thinking it’s a fuel problem? He asked a engine builder buddy what he thinks and the guy let us know that if oil pressure to the VCT is less than 12.5 they won’t “activate” and the motor will not start so he believes I have a clogged oil pickup and it’s causing a slow build up of oil pressure. I have an upgraded Melling oil pump however my oem gauge does not read the psi properly it’s stuck at what i’m assuming is 60/70 constantly. Now onto today and why I’m messaging asking for ANY HELP!! - I unplugged my injectors and attempted to build oil pressure by cranking without fuel then when I reinstalled my injector pigtails and cranked the motor she was very upset like very. Struggled to crank I probably tried 3 times each attempt being over 5 seconds before it FINALLY fired up just to barely idle and misfire like crazy! Injectors were all plugged in, I hadn’t touched the ignition coils I only unplugged and re-plugged in the injectors I even pushed them a little further on while it was running but to no avail. After a minute or two she idled properly however rpm’s were not consistent it held 650-700 with an audible misfire ( popping / burble ) from the exhaust then would rev to 1k and the misfire would disappear. I tried driving home as I was at the gym when this “brilliant” idea came to me and it was rough i’m talking almost stalling after tapping the gas WITH the clutch FULLY engaged. It would drop to 300-400 rpm’s and barely come back to life and when I finally got rolling I could physically feel a jolt / correction? above 2,500 rpm’s. I just stayed in a lower gear trying to keep my rpms as high as possible during the drive home got here and now I’m asking for help from anybody who reads this. I really don’t know what to do and quite frankly I’m nervous to crank it back over in fear of timing failures or low oil pressure etc. Thanks for reading and seriously if you have any ideas let me know!

UPDATE. I removed my fuel pressure sensor to check for damage etc because I heard a drip and hiss from it. I now have 0 fuel pressure going to that sensor! Yippee
