In saying this, understand I do not have a 5.0, but of this entire thread - I think Chris Rose coming in here and giving his thoughts and what not is pretty stand up. I wish more tuners would come into these threads or address this issue in their own thread and get some of these issues a little more clear than the average person saying " well.. i think this and that " which is what these threads turn into b/c the tuner's don't say anything really..

Chris sold me on AM/Bama tunes by doing that.

Exactly. I know these tuners will always have their followers but TO ME I'd rather deal with someone that has provided interjection AND a warranty with their tunes on this very subject.....ie American Muscle

THAT'S service and one that ill give my money too. Chris Rose has stepped up to the challenge. He's available for feedback, answers PMs, and even takes his customers datalog personally and tweaks them himself. AVAILABLE.......did I already mention this? Speaks volumes IMO.

If the guy has nothing to hide, spill the beans on why these #8 pistons are melting down. Even if it is something these threads have hit on.

I spoke with my neighbor and he said my car runs good. Guess I should just believe him........................:wtf1:

Disclaimer: Nothing towards you beefcake:beerdrink: personally, but if Mr. Lund KNOWS what's causing the problems I see absolutely no reason why these guys can't be enlightened. Rediculous if you ask me.

it's not about hiding anything, it's about how he tunes the cars vs how other people tune the cars.

it's proprietary information

Ha, true, lol. Screw sharing for the better good.

no, it's not like he found a cure for cancer, he found a better mouse trap so to speak, it's a business for him, puts food on the table, why should he give away information that his knowledge and experience allow him a edge?

The edge might be to far if his tunes keep popping pistons. I have his aggressive tune and street tune. Just because he says its all good does not mean it is. Im sure all tuners are going to say the same thing. Its most likely aggressive timing and messing with the knock sensors. If he pulls back to make the tunes safer im sure his will be no different than the rest.

He's told me numerous times, he does not touch the knock sensor on any tune.

With what fuel though? And you're 10:1 now aren't you?

ms109, and yes,

wanna run power, run fuel

jpc i believe was running around 22 degrees or better on the stock motor at over 800rwhp and were not able to break the engine,

So I hear guys saying blower cars are "safe" from the issue because of lower timing. How about turbo cars?

Same principle I would imagine. Forced induction requires less timing and more fuel, relying on the power adder itself to make the power. vs. lean stoich + lots of timing in a N/A motor.

I could be way off but thats what I got out of this long ass thread....

The validity of this thread is questionable to say the least, HOWEVER, it is referencing a Lund tune smoking a #8 piston. I hardly think he's got the magic potion if this really did happen.

Again, the validity of this thread is highly speculative of troll fodder, but anyways.

I have no dog in this fight as I drive an indestructable 3V.....LOL......however, Lund could come in and clear the air without releasing any propriety info or revealing his voodoo capabilities with the 4V's IMO. American Muscle is so confident they released a freakin warranty with their tunes for the 5.0's. I don't see anybody else doing that. You think AM doesn't carry the same capabilities of tuning a 5.0 as Jon Lund? Hmmmmm......

BTW...............I'm not dogging Mr. Lund or ANY tuner for that matter. I'd just like to know the DEFINITIVE answer to this puzzle of piston popping. Is it mechanical or the tune? I believe alot of 5.0 owners seek just this as well.

I'm not replying to start trouble I promise. Just curious as to what the problem is.
