not bad for the first time out this year and first time ever on a pro .400 tree. but need drag radials pronto. gonna order a set ASAP!

first round qualifying aboslutley blew the tires off the car, could not get traction if my life depended on it.

R/T .373
60' 2.92
330" 7.70
1/8 10.90
MPH 78.12
1/4 15.82
MPH 99.97

second round, did a slight burn out, and let the car roll out before stabbing the throttle

R/T .531
60' 2.19
330" 5.87
1/8 8.88
MPH 81.60
1/4 13.68
MPH 101.71

this got me the number 2 qualifier in the 13.50 class.

round 1 eliminations

R/T .891
60' 2.12
330" 5.80
1/8 8.81
MPH 81.92
1/4 14.25
MPH 74.93

knew i had him beat after the 1/8 so i let off and tapped the breaks to make sure i didnt break out

round 2

R/T .483
60' 2.18
330" 5.86
1/8 8.87
MPH 81.79
1/4 13.64
MPH 102.06

guy tree'd me and i was playing catch up but could catch him at the top end s o i went out in the second round. guy that beat me won the event. so gettin some drag radials this week hope to have them on and ready by sundays race.

any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming a .000 is a perfect R/T on that tree. It's .500 at the track I run at. If it is, you definitely need to work on R/T. Also, when you know you're going to win, never let off until after 1000'. You can compare 1000' times from your time trials or previous runs to determine what you would have run and adjust your dial from there instead of guessing.

I've never raced on a pro tree. It seems it would be darn near impossible with a stick unless you have a 2-step. Deep staging would make me nervous on a pro tree. It takes a little longer to deep stage, time you don't have on a pro-tree.

I went the cheap way,

Jegs prostar 15x8
MT DR 275/60x15

I went the MT route cause I haven't heard anything bad about them, and the prostars go for about $125.

We've had successful guys doing it in Ultra Stang for three years.

With an auto it wouldn't be so bad. You just have to bring the RPM's up while pre-staged then bump in. With a stick, you have to bring the RPM's up after staging it. It seems like it would take too long to get it deep staged then bring the RPMs up. But like I said, I've never raced on a pro-tree so I'm no expert.
