I wanted to replace these two bolts that thread into the rear coupler, but I'm having a hard time properly naming them to find them. I always just called them driveshaft alignment dowels.

Anyone know?
They're not quite a socket-cap, as they have a specific-diameter smooth outside head that aligns with holes in my driveshaft's rear plate.

Coupler on the axle where the rear of the driveshaft bolts to the differential. Heard it called a coupler or a flange.

Unfortunately my driveshaft maker isn't in business anymore, but I had a chat with another driveshaft shop. They do look like socket cap screws, but they are screw-in locating pins.
The threads are M10-1.5 but the heads are typical to any socket screws I've looked up. They're either too small, or too big. Too small would be pointless, and I don't want to try machining the alignment holes on my driveshaft.

If I can't find replacements I'll machine some.

Yeah, seems to be one of those parts with a million names, none of which help find the part, lol.

I know two axle builders who call it a "pinion coupler," Ford calls it a "pinion flange," I've got a pinion seal guide that calls it a "mating flange," and I call it the "son-ova-betch why won't you release!"

All of which makes finding new locating pins so much fun.

Send me the vin number. This is for the flange at the back of the driveshaft? Do you have a one piece driveshaft by chance?

It's not specific to the VIN. :)

I have a DynoTech one piece aluminum driveshaft.

Apparently Dynotech went out in 2018 under some name-consumer parent company, then died off.

I probably should get a new one from a current company, but I didn't feel like spending the expense, and this one's been with me through a lot. Probably being stupid.

I am aware of that., However working at a Ford Dealer I might be able to get you some additional info.

I just found that out the hard way myself. I had three choices …

1) FRPP / Spicer 1-Piece
2) DSS 1-Piece with a CV joint
3) Dorman 1-Piece (based on my research-junk)

I went with #1 and it’s working well so far.

Yeah. I'll see if I can machine up some. If it turns out to be a headache, I'll figure out buying a new driveshaft. Wasn't in the budget given all the rebuild I'm subjecting myself to. :)
